But that somehow gives random people the right to see those pictures and comment about them? If I left my door to my house unlocked, and someone comes in and steals my computer with sensitive company information, does that give my competitors the right to see this information, because I didn't take precautions locking my door?
In my opinion, there's a pretty clear right and wrong here. The photos or videos were meant for private consumption, and that's where it belongs. Same with the Sony e-mails. I've got no right to it, and so I'm not going to actively seek it out, and to the extent possible, I'm not going to allow what was taken to color my views.
No, it doesn't. But that wouldn't in that case make you any less dumb or careless for leaving sensitive company information completely unprotected. Same goes with her and these pictures.
The fact of the matter is that common sense now extends to putting extra safeguards between the outside world and private things we would have in previous years considered secure. That's why I think if there is even any hint of a chance that something life ruining like this can leak out, you are best off just not creating it in the first place.
