I enjoy Survivor still. I don't watch too much tv and don't have time for a million dramas or comedies, so I just like watching the reality shows.

I'm having Big Brother withdrawal, so Survivor kicked in at the perfect time lol

Watched Ep 1 of Samoa...not liking Russell at all......sure, hes been billed as the villian but its gonna get ugly fast and that is just not enjoyable to watch.

Marissa was a total hottie - sorry to see her go. The team is not voting with their heads. They are doomed

With the first few votes, most people are just going with the majority because it takes the heat off of them. Russell can control his tribe for a couple of weeks actually but when numbers begin to dwindle that is when people start getting suspicious.

Sad to see the cop go. She actually could have been a tough player, just got the target put on her to early. I guess a villian wouldn't be much of a villian if he got eliminated early.

I love when the competitions get rough.

I understand that Russell is the big villain(and finding the idol was a smart move), but I hate that they're focusing so much time on him. It seemed like the first half of the show was all about him and they did almost nothing with the other tribe.

And Yasmine was stupid. All she had to do was go over to the other tribe and observe. Not draw attention to herself by telling them what the were doing wrong.

I am ok with Russell getting the idol. First off once everyone knows he has it they will want to get rid of him even more and second he will be too arrogant to ever play it anyway. Also how many times does an idol finder actually win? And for that matter how many times has it really effected the game... maybe twice. The idol is kind of an overrated thing.

I think the best idol ever was a few seasons back when Ozzie made a fake one and someone used it. :lol

Happened last season also. How some of these people make it onto the show is beyond belief.:lol

It's been done a few times so far. It's definitely a great play if you can pull it off.

I think it was Yau Man who made the first one. And that older guy with glasses (I can't remember his name) made a very realistic looking one.

I think the Idol is overrated too and maybe needs a redesign. Removing its "secret" aspect and rewarding it on merit would help.

Perhaps something like keeping the idol in a locked chest that is brought to camp and requires 3 keys to open. Each key is rewarded to the standout player of the LOSING and WINNING tribes during reward challenges (lets say voted on by Jeff Probst). Multiple players can share keys if they desire or they can wait until they have 3 keys of their own.
This could lead to strong players competing directly with 2 or 3 weaker players in trying to be the best individual performer. It could also lead to interesting "ball hog" performances at challenges which may put the individual over the team.

They may consider changing how they do it after what Russell did. I'm surprised no one thought of looking for it before.

this is only the 3rd or 4th time the idol was hidden in the camps I think. I think this is the first time the opposing team's idol is hidden on your camp, so really russel got the other team's idol, so there is a chance he can have both, but thinking about it now, there is a chance that the rules (which Russell never read) state that the idol can only be used at the correct tribal council which would make it useless to him except in trade.

Yau-Man was the first one, all the others since haven't been too authentic looking. The Idol itself is fairly useless IMHO because in the seasons past the users who held it haven't really done much with it, most of them get blindsided with it or just hold it until its useless.

the best way to use the idol is to just use it the first tribal council you go to after finding it. you just play it and say, "hey, I didn't know if I needed it or not might as well play it."

I think by playing it, you actually get a monkey and a huge target off your back.

The one really good looking idol was made by Bob (the guy with the glasses). I think he used wire, feathers and beads. It was pretty convincing.

I love blindsides. :lol
