Well I put in my order for this one, not so much that this is my favorite piece but of the possibilities. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to have all of the duels in Star Wars in the same scale.

I hate to say this, but the more I look at the piece, the more I am leaning against ordering it. I think the details in the sculpt are great, as is the quality of the paint apps, but I just can't get past the pose. Obi-Wan just looks too off balance to me. His center of gravity is too far behind his feet to make me believe he could recover. Every time I look at it, it looks like he is about to fall off the platform into the lava.

What to do, what to do...

I can't get myself excited about the lava.

I got to see this piece in person at Toy Fair and let me tell you it is very impressive. Like alot of these pieces, the pictures never do them justice. It's definitely a must-have for me.

I ordered it from Sideshow but its just about to get canceled. I just ordered from Dark Shadow. It was $310 after tax/shipping from sideshow and from Dark Shadow its showing $245. I can't justify the $65 for nothing. Ok with Maul I can't decide I know the exclusive kinda sucks but I have all the other exclusives except Han. But for nothing extra at all excecpt a few point I can get this elsewhere.

And I fully expect most people will, too. I went the SS Flexpay route just because it'll be so much easier on my wallet in summertime, as the days and nights on the Adriatic Coast get pretty wild...

Anyway! An observation!

The name of the first diorama has CHANGED over the past five days!

On Saturday, it was "Anakin vs. Obi-Wan".

Now it's "Obi-Wan vs. Anakin".

PWNED! :lsvader

Buying this from SS is about as bad a move as you can make. No exclusive, no jacked aftermarket price. When it hits, it'll be had for a shade over 200.00 The smart money will wait.

Well, the stupid money will still be very happy with Sideshow's shipping quote from the EU warehouse, compared to the overseas shipping quotes the e-tailers will have to make do with.

Also, with Flexpay, the diorama will be just like another monthly bill, not a terrible burden on my bank account.

And we'll see about that $200, once the new announcements in the line start coming in!

:)

can't you just re-enact this with the 1:6 line? I would much rather have two $60 POSABLE figures doing this iconic scene, then a smaller 1:9 scale overpriced statue. I love the likeness on anakin though! :chew

I could, and I actually have both the exclusive Anakin and the exclusive Obi-Wan at hand.

But I'm completely getting out of the 12" line after this announcement. Figures are figures, but statues are art... the kind of art I've been waiting for for over twenty-five years, while collecting Hasbro and what have you.

This line is really a big thing for me. Hope you understand!
