Well, I am with you that it will be puny like all other Medicom RAH figures. But Depp is a pretty small (and short) dude relatively, so it works for me.

Why? Seems to me that most everyone is positive about this figure so far.

You're right, then it's just Roranous. Honestly, the ^^^^ you're dumping onto this figure is a bit much, considering the pics are tiny. I can barely make out the sculpt, but it does look like Depp to me, and even if it isn't extrememly accurate, you'd be blind not to recognize Sweeney from just the head alone.

Ya can't expect much out of Medicom threads. You can expect great things from Medicom, but not the SSF threads based thereof. Once we get bigger, clearer pictures, this thread'll turn out one way: Medicom defenders vs. detractors, sans Star Wars.

I see a lot of the negative comments will not be limited to this figure, and most people won't hesitate at the chance to make some disdain-ridden comment about Medicom as a whole.

But hell, I don't love Medi, I'm just making comments based on past observations.

:lol:lol

I take it this way- if there are people out there that dislike MEdicom so much then there must be a reason. You don't get Hot Toys haters, why? Because they do great work as a company and most to everyone can agree on that.

Medicom has a lot of haters because many people believe their products are lacking in one way or another.

I had a feeling this might be made after Medi made Ed Scissorhands, Jack Sparrow and Willy Wonka. Looks good on the whole, not a must have for me, but I'll reserve judgement when i've seen more pics.
A great leftfield figure though, as we expect from Medi and that outfit looks very well done.

You sound exactly like one of the "Medicom defenders" of which you speak.

Then you're one of the detractors. I don't think I made Medicom out to be a company with redoubtable abilities or releases, so the smallest non-negative comment about them (based on just reading previous Medi-related threads) comes off as defensive. And of course, it takes a detractor to point that out first and foremost.

It does? I own about 14 Medicom figures. Does that make me a "detractor"? :lol

I just tell it like I see it. I'll be critical of Medicom's effort in one thread (like the hideous Mutt Williams figure) and be excited about an offering in another, like this one. They're a company that is equally fun and frustrating. The same goes for Sideshow, by the way. I'm neutral and an equal opportunity critic/praiser. :p

Now look what I've done. I'm a part of the mess I was complaining about.

Done with that. Sweeney Todd looks like a winner to me. Not perfect, no, I'll need to see more pics. Mutt Williams has a huge nose, but at least his skin tone "isn't the same as all the others".

I am SO friggin in for this one! How often do we get figures based on musicals, for God's sake?!!

He's a head repaint, and you'd better believe I'm adding some blood splatter up that right sleeve.

I think I'd prefer this over an HT just because the proportions of the body are more slight an d fit Depp a bit better. Usually I'm HT all the way. I cannot wait for this to come out!! :woo

How'd Medicom get the rights to do this? NECA said Tim Burton didn't want figures from Sweeny Todd right now. They said they even had a prototype made, but he said no. I wonder if this means he has changed his mind and NECA will be doing some too?

Anyway, this is the first Medicom figure where I'm actually impressed how well they did the headsculpt. Its not perfect, but it is the best I've seen from them.

This is one of the best Medi figs I've seen. The clothes are awesome and I really like the sculpt too. This would make a great stand alone figure.

I'll give Medi this, they sure can crank stuff out. This one is head and shoulders above their Indy offerings though.

For 150.00 their Indy sucks balls. This fig is pretty nice though. I doubt HT will bother with it. I don't think there would be enough support for that many figs.

Loved the film and will definitely be getting this - from the tiny pics the sculpt looks okay. And the paleness is appropriate to the character, although I wished they'd do more paint apps on the face - he had very dramatic makeup. I'd dearly wish the chair to be included, but I don't see that happening.

Can't see any reason SSC wouldn't carry this.
