I think it's just a case of someone missing the mark with their posing/photographing. One thing I've found in my own work is sometimes, what you pose the figure to look like as you set it up, doesn't come through in your photos. I've had several occassions where a pose looked great, but for some reason, when I picked up my camera, I couldn't make the camera see it the way my eyes did. I imagine the person who did the gallery Riko posted had different intentions with their poses and shots than what came out, but were still happy with them in the end. It could also be that they just posed the figure. Another key thing for successful shots, in my opinion anyway, is to understand the character you're shooting. My favorite figures to shoot are ones where I can really get inside the character and bring that out through my photos. Batman is one of those, I look forward to taking a stab at this figure tomorrow.
