can someone tell what's with the difference here
the skin, eyes,...

This is a combined picture from the same gallery from the link I posted here some pages before...

so I hope this is just due to light-effects and circumstances as such...?

Because it would be something if there were inferiour versions of the takara would it..

It would something all right. It would be bad. :lecture

The one on the right looks like a Mattel figure compared to the one on the left.

didn't read whole thread but can the accessory tray be opened w/o cutting it on this new version? or is it the same as 1st version?

I'm guessing the guy who took those photos was damn lazy and just wanted to play around with Takara Bats abit and couldn't be bothered to put abit more effort to do justice to this excellent figure. The lighting on his shots are damn terrible too, all over exposed as well. He would do well to spend more time honing his photography skills.

btw, anyone bashed Bruce Wayne yet? Thanks to Venny for the initial idea, and here are pix of mine.

What body did you use?

I managed to check one out at one of the local stores here today. I think it was the last one on the shelf.

Can't help but feel that the Christian Bale/Bruce Wayne head looks a little different on the reissue.

Also, the paint application on the Batman head is a little sloppy this time around as pointed out by one of the members here on this thread, from the pic above as well as the one I personally inspected at the store. I wouldn't say the paint on mine is perfect/faultless though.

It could be the overall paint application on both heads or the lighting when I was in the store. Hope TAKARATOMY didn't get sloppy this time around.

The accessory tray looks like it needs a little "surgery" as well on the one I saw but I love that they are now using magnets on the cover/flap.

Still, its an awesome figure and worth getting if you missed out on the 1st release. I'm thinking of getting the reissue as well but might just save the money for some other figures.....

well, at least (I hope) that it won't be sloppier than the first release, because in this review there ware already mentions about those lines between the head and the mask
https://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_073106a.htm

quote:
"The one place he fails is in the skin tone riding up on the mask around the face. The edge of the mask should be black, not tan, and at least half of the edge around mine is the wrong color."

and it is hard to believe that they would chance the form of the head slightly :)
maybe improvement, but what is there to improve about the maskshape? :google

ps: where is that picture thread?

question for people owning the first release:

does your takara have bright blue eyes?
because on many pictures of the re-release, you see him with very bright blue eyes....

(thought that Christian Bale had black eyes...not sure)

No one has black eyes, but in the lighting of most scenes, it could look black. I'd scour Google or one of those for high-res Bale images to see what his eye color is.

As for the image thread, it's up and running under the same section as this thread.

Ya, it's a challenge with collectibles. Sometimes, it works and is best to use the true color of the actor's eyes, and other times, it's better to replicate what's seen on screen. There was a big discussion here on the boards about Harrison Ford's eye color with Sideshow's Han figure. Harrison's eyes look very dark, nearly black pretty much all the time in a lot of his movies, especially Star Wars, so when you paint a figure with his eye color, it looks off because painted eyes will not react to light as real ones do. Pupils widen under low light, so often in films, the colored area is so minimally there that you don't pick up on it. I think Tak Bat's eyes look good.
