i have to agree with mookeylama. if the product was just going to be a rerelease why not just put the picture up as is? i don't think they'd have bothered with the "this is not the actual product" sign? i think we'll see substantial changes in the comic version.

Sounds right to me too. Most companies like Takara aren't into "re-releasing" of their figures without some changes or additions... except maybe Medicom! (Rocketeer II comes to mind). Takara does have a history of releasing variants of their Cool Girl figures. And I'm sure you're right about the addition of the "disclaimer". Pics of the actual product are bound to turn up before long. Don't know if I need another Cat figure, though. Still pretty happy with the first one. Guess it all depends on what's different this time around.

Btw, looks like it's the same case for the Indy figure. Not much information available about it now, likely due to its being still "under development". With all the other 1:6 Indy figures being released lately, maybe they were in a rush to get their announcement out there with the others...?

I wish Hot Toys was making an Indy figure!

I wouldn't be surprised if they've at least considered it. There may still be a chance, but with all the other companies jumping on the Indy franchise lately, it doesn't seem too likely. I really wish they'd just concentrate on doing a full Metal Gear line and announce it as their next Video Game Masterpiece series instead!!! :rock

I wish with this new famous people's line they'd get a Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods figures done already. I know not gonna happen but I can wish can't I?

Well, they need to do more than just announce it... they need to provide the details as to why it's $400.

well fellas, rakuten rejected my credit card because it is from a foreign devil bank. their new policy sucks major basketball sized balls. i'm still very much into getting this figure, but might wait to see what price blister has it for. i just don't want to miss out on this early 25% off preorder. might have to be an expensive bank transfer.

nash, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get yours from? i bet you can afford 3 or 4 with all the hicks you have stashed up right? :D

For those of you holding out for a Hot Toys Indy I have bad news, I was just told from a bona fide reliable source (i.e Hot Toys) that they will not be releasing an Indy figure!
Who nows if further down the line we might see something from them (I hope) but for now there will be no HT Indy.

Bummer. At least there's SS Indy. Maybe Takara's will be a nice surprise but I wasn't impressed with they're Bale sculpt so I'm not holding my breath. The clothes and accessories might be a different story though.

Proof there is no god!!!!

Oh well, SS's still rocks :joy

And that means they can focus on a kick-ass Metal Gear Solid line instead! Hot Toys is the perfect company to finally do it right. I hope it's only just a matter of time before we get that "dreams do come true" announcement from them again.

I'm surprised HT isn't when it seems everyone else is but maybe Medicom got the rights to the Asian market?

I really don't know whether Medicom has an "exclusive rights" deal with Konami or not, and I've never heard anything definite to that effect, but I suppose it's entirely possible. A few years back, Konami released several Metal Gear Solid figures that were produced by Yamato. You may remember them, nothing on par with Medi or HT's stuff, but not too bad for the price and the times.

Even if Medi does have an exclusive deal, it'll run out sooner or later. I'm guessing their license is limited to MGS4 figures and not the entire MGS series. If so, that might leave the door open for Hot Toys to do some MGS figures, too. I really hope that turns out to be the case, 'cause I don't think anybody could beat Hot Toys if they acquired a Metal Gear license.

I'm totally pulling that one out of my butt honestly. Just a nugget of info that I thought I'd toss out and see if anyone had light to shine on it.
