EVILFACE
Insufferable S.O.B.
The movie keeps rolling at the BO.
Awesome! There is certainly an audience for this kind of movie (myself included), and I could definitely go for some sequelsTaken is nearing the 100M mark and still going strong...Hopefully this gets Liam more lead roles in action films.

I think I posted this somewhere else already, but I agree completely about the strength of the simplicity of the story, and actually got a real kick out of how little he cared for anyone else.I think that they kinda missed that THAT was the whole point of the movie. No sub-plot. No twists. No turns. Just one man trying to save his daughter. He didnt care about collateral damage. Didnt care about the law. Didnt care about stopping the bad guys. The dude was in it for his daughter and that was it. LOVED it. I think if you have a child (especially a daughter) the movie draws you in even more. Excellent!
The only bad thing about this is that FOX looks at movies like Taken and Live Free or Die Hard and think they made a good decision when cutting them back to PG-13 flicks.

He found loads of other exploited girls on 2 occasions, and just left them! He took one away, but only to find out where his daughter was. Who knows what happened to her after she gave him the info. he wanted (did they show it? I don't remember). He obviously didn't care.
I just wouldn't pay the starting bid on his daughter, $100,000.
It just gets better and better upon repeated viewing...
I loved the film, and it was so nice to see a movie with hero so driven with a singular purpose that I'm sure many dads here could somewhat relate to (I'm assuming... I don't have a daughter [but I'd probably want to do what Bryan did if I were placed in his situation]).
I need to watch it again, simply because I was a little confused during the scene before Bryan kills the guy who was on the phone.
Casting Liam Neeson was perfect. I always loved him in his more dramatic roles, and he brought such a strong, believable presence to the film. I'm sure I would have laughed if a pretty boy like George Clooney was cast in the role.
I don't think the title for this film is fitting for its greatness.
