Yeah, makes sense. But only if they get to reimburse this from the manufacturer though.

Yes, I can't see that SSC would ultimately wear the cost of manufacturing defects. I could be wrong, but I think the cost comes back to Tamashii/Bandai, which is why I figured that one write-off is preferable to them than two, win-win for them and the customer :)

Not sure if you can categorize it as "win-win" but I see your point. If cobble together me a perfect one too if I was having all this trouble with it. And certainly if you got almost a grand out there floating around trying to get a perfect one, if SS ain't gonna help you, then you gotta help yourself!
I've done this same thing with so many Mattel figures it'll make your head spin. Devious, I'd say no. I'd call it customer justice.

Handy hint for SSC buyers: as soon as you receive a faulty/blemished figure and receive SSC approval for a full refund, pick up a replacement figure from HLJ (or another store) before sending the C3PO figure back. If the second set arrives with any blemishes, you at least can mix n' match parts to put together a perfect figure.

You are exactly right. I have done this on SSC figures and HT figures. We pay too much to receive damaged goods and then just live with it. I dropped $400 on this from SSC. Mine did have a blemish on the back, and I never did hear back for their customer support, so I decided I could live with it, since it is on the back of the figure. If I had the money I would have done exactly this to try and get a perfect figure. We have the right to have near perfection with these prices.

YAY, got the paint blemish to go away, his head is perfect.

QUESTION: Do his legs move at all at the hips...I know he can't sit down...but mine have no movement at all aside from turing them inside and out? Are they supposed to move front or back at all?

They have a little wriggle leeway, but they're not designed to be articulated per se'.

You can remove both legs, so by the nature of how they plug into the torso, allows for a little movement at the hips, but not much.

I am really glad that mine arrived in perfect condition. I had no idea that a figure that cost as much as this would have so many problems. I really love mine and he is my favorite 6th scale figure.

I am thinking about ordering this on flex.... What to do? What to do? :dunno

My suggestion would be, if you can afford it, to pick it up as soon as possible. The longer you wait the more likely it will be for you to get a return someone else couldn't live with but Sideshow thinks is more than acceptable to re issue.

I'd try to find one outside of Sideshow if you can... I saved close to $100 on mine by buying from a boardie :duff

Amazon.com
Have to agree with that. Checked yesterday and it was going for $350.00 new on Amazon. I'd agree also with KD that flexing at this point seems kind of risky. Part of the reason I paid early is I am kind of expecting a sub-par 3PO due to it shipping so late. Hopefully my paranoia is for nothing and it arrives pristine, though.
