I was under the impression that the Medi R2 was smaller than the Hasbro one.
it might be smaller in width but it's labeled as 6" and so is kenner's total duplication of kenner's electronic one just added sound

I don't know which 'Kenner' one you're talking about.. there's a bunch between vintage & now.it might be smaller in width but it's labeled as 6" and so is kenner's total duplication of kenner's electronic one just added sound

The medi is pretty damn small - I'd almost guarantee it's smaller than any Kenner / Hasbro 1/6 version.
Medicom's entire back catalogue of 1/6 SW scale figures is under scaled - except for a small handful via some recent additions. It's been their M.O till recently, their 'niche'.so that means medicom lied about it's actual size my droid measured 6 1/8" tall if your saying medicom is smaller than that it is definatly a pass on anything they do. I have managed to avoid medicom and was tempted you have restored my restraint.
now i really will need SSC to make R2. Come on sideshow your my only hope.
Yep - that's it.There are a few things we know with 100% certainty:
1. Nothing has been released.
2. Nothing has been announced with regards to an R2 product.
3. No 1/6 scale prototype has ever been displayed or photographed. That 1/7 scale abomination from last year as a "placeholder" counts for exactly nothing.
All of these things leave everyone waiting. However, they also indicate that the wait will be long and likely futile. Products don't get prototyped, shown and released in less than 1-2 years in this hobby. And so far there's not even a whisper to indicate that the 1-2 year timeline is ever going to start.
If you want to spend some energy, write to Sideshow and tell them you want them to make a high-end 1/6 scale, articulated and tool-packing R2. Don't complain that they're missing the boat and "not making what people want."
