I got mine today and I really like it. This is pretty much the definitive figure of clean C-3PO for me, regardless of what Sideshow and Hot Toys might do in the future. But I am 3PO fan so I'll still look at any future release. A "dirty" version would be cool but there is an issue with the Sideshow prototype pictures I have seen so far, head doesn't look right.

Sort of surprising Tama didn't offer a dirtied up version. With really well done heavy weathering this would have looked awesome.

I got mine from Amazon.com (not .ca) shipped from Japan (not fulfilled by Amazon) so no taxes. Shipping was OK ($20) and I got it real fast (it took 3 days after it was shipped).

The box was opened by Canadian Customs (first time it happened to me) but only the "brown" exterior box, not the Bandai box (perfect condition, no damage to the Bandai box).

It is expensive at $350 but I used gift certificates I had so it didn't really bother me.

Ended up ordering from a place in Japan - probably should have ordered a few weeks ago from that cheaper place in Japan. Anyway, the good news is that he should be here within the next two weeks and I'll have adapter available to power his eyes shortly after that (along with a set for R2's lights of course)

Congrats on the purchase. Worth every dollar. When it was available on SS the asking was 399. So anything below that is decent imo.

I've had this on my wanted list since it came out, I just wasn't prepared to pay retail. I had secured a deal at under $200 at one point. Then another. Then an eBay auction which I would have handily won below $170 got screwed up because I changed my eBay ID a few days prior and forgot to update that info on my bidding platform (so login failed when it was supposed to auto-bid for me). I've had people asking me for a battery eliminator module for this guy for over a year and a couple of people even volunteer to send me the head from their figure. R2 was delivered to my mailbox last week and I figured I might as well have this guy at the same time and have the battery module also done at the same time.

Hers my tamishi r2d2 custom.i know it's not screen accurate with the chrome dome but i wanted to be accurate to tamishis prototype.

You will be pleased, one of the best figures I own, and that's saying something considering it's pretty far from my favorite character of Star Wars.

The figure can also double as a lamp, the eyes are insanely bright.

I may have to add a few resistors to my adapter to reduce the current and drop the brightness.
