As far as I know that hot toys is not going to produce the bat, that was the statement they announce at the Singapore show

Alex posted a comment on his Toyhaven blog that seems to be taken as gospel by collectors, that a 'friend talked to some guy who was close to Howard' and the word was the project was shelved. I don't think HT has officially said anything either way on whether this will go ahead?

Looks like it's still a go from this pic posted on the OSR Facebook page

If they were not going to make it, i would think that they would have removed it from the photo.
Maybe they are waiting until everyone has their Tumbler, Batpod, Batman, Joker, Catwoman and Bane paid for 1st. :dunno

I'd counsel patience in this matter.
IF Hot Toys are still going ahead with it, and it's probably a bit *if*, the logistics involved in the multiple hundreds of moulds needed for the injection moulded plastic parts will be a nightmare, even for them.
It could be as much as 500 separate moulds needed. Those all have to be cut from steel. That takes a lot of time. If they are still forging ahead, then they will likely not tell anyone till they are nearly done, and only with teaser images of several of them completed.
If it happens, i will be just as excited as everyone.
But if it doesn't happen, it's because they couldn't get the cost/sale value to be high enough that they'd make a decent profit, or(More likely), the idea of shipping the thing was thought to be too expensive.

Either was, I am going to figure out a way to get this and display this with my tumbler. The flex pay option would be really good if it is in fact around the $1000-1200 range.

You guys that want this and are pining for it are nuts. :lol

Everyone complains about the Tumbler and Batpod taking up space and having quality control issues? Just imagine this thing. I can see a lot of posts expressing sadness about how their Bat doesn't function properly, or that it feels cheap and isn't worth the money. "This bar won't attach into the hole", "There are glue marks all over the place", "My guns just snapped", "The canopy is too loose and doesn't sit properly", etc. etc.

I don't see how this vehicle is practical in terms of production, assembly, cost, and shipping as a collectible. The Batpod is small in comparison and you have a majority of folks that have complaints about the simple arm shield handles, weight distribution and if their frames and tires are crooked or not.

The Tumbler box is huge, many folks have gotten hit hard with the shipping cost for it. The Bat? C'mon. If Hot Toys does do this, I think it'll be a production nightmare. Even if they do get them all out, I can see a ton of returns and replacements.

+1 :goodpost:

Unless they impose a strictly no returns policy for The Bat.

Still, a model kit will be the way to go. Hell they could even go for a smaller scale.

Yes, maybe a model kit is the best way to go but not on a smaller scale! It should still be 1/6 scaled to DX12 Batman.

this would have been so cool as a build a figure back from the old marvel legends line-----buy the whole set of the tdkr figures and each would include a part ,solve all the shipping and oc issues for a huge item...
