Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Also, if what I just read above is true, John wasn't born yet but the Terminator was with Sarah since she was 10. So John would have already lived the new timeline to wind up in the future alive and would already know about the changes... right? :lol

I don't like how we give complete bs a pass because "time travel gets convuluted." It's a big reason I don't think DOFP is as amazing as everyone makes it out.
Time travel IS convoluted.

And the future John you see in the 1st part of the trailer shouldn't be aware of the changes if said changes were 1st introduced after he sends Kyle to the usual time "loop"(T1), it would be future John that comes to existence AFTER what happens in this movie whom would be aware of those changes.

EDIT: Nope, my bad, I think you're right, an "unaware" future John shouldn't exist if Sarah already grew up with T-pops

Also, DOFT is amazing not because of the time travel.

I intend to record one for your next post. When can I expect that? Just so I can set up my camera...

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

It was explained a while back that another Terminator was sent back to 1974 to rescue a 10 year old Sarah and then his skin aged 45 years between then and 1984. Or something like that.

I guess it's not that far fetched since it is living tissue, the living tissue has to age right?

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Why does Pops tell the T-800 "I've been waiting for you." How is that tactically advantageous? "Good" Arnold in T2 never said stupid pointless crap like that before engaging an enemy.

:exactly:

Its clearly taking a leaf out of T3 where the T-850 says ''excuse me'' to the TX before pulling her out of the crane truck. Next I can't wait to see if this T-800 talks to himself like the one in T3 did - ''she'll be back!''

Hey guys, lets learn nothing from the mistakes of that movie.

Yeah and it isn't even a cute "innocent" line. He actually says it in a threatening manner that if anything could very well have tipped off naked Arnold that the older Terminator was an enemy instead of potential ally. Just dumb on many levels.

Maybe he says it to someone else, and it's just edited that way because trailer.

I suppose we should count ourselves lucky that George Lucas isn't in charge of these films. Otherwise T1 would be retrofitted with Arnie catchphrases in every scene - y'know, for consistency with the newer movies.

Fixed

The one downside to T2 - once you humanize the Terminator, he's gonna say and do stupid ****. And the audience will come to expect/accept it.

You just know Hot Toys is going to make Asian T-1000, Old Pops Arnold, Game of Thrones Sarah, Jai Courtney Reese and the CGI Endo all before a proper Michael Biehn.

If we're lucky, hopefully they avoid this movie completely but the subject matter inspires them to make a proper 1/6 Kyle Reese, Endo, etc.

I think I'd rather take one of the T1000's spikes up my poopshoot than watch this movie:yuck

I'm telling you right now I want no part of 65 year old Terminator from Hot Toys. No part.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Serious question.

How is there an old Arnold before the young T1 version?

This old Arnold has been there for roughly 30-40 years just waiting? Wouldn't that be longer than Sarah Connor was even alive?

And finally what did he do all that time? Wander the streets? Get a job landscaping with Danny Trejo? Stripping?

Also, if what I just read above is true, John wasn't born yet but the Terminator was with Sarah since she was 10. So John would have already lived the new timeline to wind up in the future alive and would already know about the changes... right? :lol

Well X-Men Days of Future Past time travel is a lot less complicated than this. That was straight forward go back to prevent bad future, succeed creating a new alternate timeline. This is go back to stop bad future and find a different past even though that's not possible as the future would be the future of that past

I mean Kyle is sent back but before that happens a T800 had to have been sent back in order to be in the past when he gets there and if that T800 goes back first then this Kyle should be living in the future of that past but he doesn't seem to be unless of course it's another case of no matter what happens things end up the same which by definition proves that the end of this movie will result in the beginning thus making the movie pointless
