i think i mentioned it

Must of missed it, apologies :slap

Surprised nobody has posted a pic of Furlong in T2 with a pic of Smith with his floppy fringe as the Doctor, similarities apart from the hair are zilch. :thud:

I want Robert Patrick to do a walk on cameo during one of the quieter moments - break the fourth wall, & say:

"Ha! Two hours of your life you'll NEVER get back! :bunnydanc"

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

That would be fitting, because Robert Patrick has been in a slew of ****** films.

Someone on reddit saw it and gave his review. That ending spoiler is a big WTF.

If you are considering seeing this film, do yourself a favor and read the spoiler. It is just terribly mind numbing. Didn't think they could sink this franchise any lower.

-------------------------------------------

So, I saw Terminator Genysis - I'll give some of my thoughts of it here, and I'm happy to answer questions.

The Good
- Jason Clarke does a pretty good job as John Connor/ The 'bad guy'. I didn't expect anything from him but I liked his performance. Arnold steals pretty much every scene he is in (although he's not in the movie as much as he was in the first 3, I'd guess he's in ~50% of this one).
- The future war scenes are better than I expected, and were probably my favorite part of the film, they're still not as good as the ones glimpsed in T1 or T2, but they're much better than what we see in T4.
- The design of the Terminator/Human hybrid is really good, and I liked the effects on that.

The Bad
I found the plot itself to be weak, there are the usual plot holes that time travel movies create, but a lot of things are just glossed over. One being the T-1000 not looking like he did in T2 (I like that Lee Byung-hun is in it, but his T-1000 isn't very much like Robert Patrick's, they could be different models I guess).

The Ugly
- The plot is very convoluted, I think we see at least 6 different times across the film, and there is massive amounts of exposition during the time travel parts.
- Emilia Clarke is no Sarah Connor, at no point in the film did I believe that she was this badass mother of John Connor. Linda Hamilton felt like she was a really tough person who could do all the things she did in reality, Clarke never gives off that same sense of strength.
- Jai Courtney is the most boring actor I have ever seen, he makes Sam Worthington's performance in T4 look Oscar worthy. Michael Biehn would be spinning in his grave if he were dead.

Major Spoilers:
The worst part of the entire film for me though is the villainization and killing of John Connor. This is changed even more when at the end of the film instead of Sarah having John as we know, she has a daughter instead, basically erasing John Connor from the timeline. This just didn't sit right with me at all, John has always been the 'savior' of the human race, I don't know how I feel now that he is just removed.

TLDR Overall, I think it has plenty of weaknesses, but it is worth a watch (just to see Arnold back in action). I think you'll even have fun if you go into it with the previous two instalments in mind, instead of the first two.

That spoiler! :slap I don't think I'd watch this for free.

I feel like Morgan Freeman's character at the end of Se7en. dev...there's nothing to see here. Stay away. Please, stay away.

Not reading the spoiler, or even reading that post. I'll just wait for the next trailer ;) I take it our concerns are valid though?

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I haven't read the spoiler... might resist. I might save the vomit for the theatre instead :lol

Just go for it :lol The more that I see and hear about the film, the less I care about spoilers since I'm no longer invested in it as a Terminator fan.
