Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Just been watching the new tv spots. So the Terminator franchise is a wacky kids comedy now then?? I'm confused.

That's Hollywood for you. Listen, and understand. These studios are out there. They can't be bargained with. They can't be reasoned with. They don't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And they absolutely will not stop, ever, until they get every last dollar out of 80s franchises.
Well said. :lol

It's been a comedy since the 2nd one. The first was serious and gritty and then comedy from the 2nd one on. I always wished they kept the tone and formula of the first one.

Oh thank god, they are FINALLY going to ruin Reese too.

They really turned him into a bumbling idiot, fish out of water. Makes me appreciate Biehn's performance worlds more. He was a deep character with PTSD, and even in that deleted scene said "I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't have seen this." I bought his love for Sara he got in the future, just from that one flashback scene. Jai Jai is just going to be another flat, one dimensional jug head moron male lead.

:lol

I love T2, but the older I've gotten... the more I think T1 is the better film.

I also love it for what it is and also vastly prefer T1. It would of been badass to have a series with an actual killing machine like the first one. Instead we got goofy one liners and a killing machine that became a babysitter.

Despite the (justified) fanfare that T-2 receives, the original film CANNOT be beat.

Ever.

:exactly:

T1 was so cold, and bleak and I can't really recall any humor in it at all. I understand that Uncle Bob needed to be likable, and he definitely was... but I still wonder what might of been if it was a more colder film. But, that seems to go against the whole premise of what T2 was.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

T2 for me is just as good as T1, even surpasses it in certain ways.

Both compliment each other very well.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

T2 is an excellent film and it was worthwhile to see a reprogrammed T-800. Having said that it annoys me that every film since has felt the need to repeat that scenario over and over again and pretty much turned 'good guy' Terminator into the default perception of the series.

It would have been far more bold and unexpected to have Arnie genuinely playing the villain again, hardly any lines like the first movie, and that's if Arnie is a requirement at all - bearing in mind the unlikelihood that of all the 'model' Terminators which presumably exist they keep choosing the '101'

Not much of an infiltration unit when you got an army of cyborgs with all the same face. Might as well go back to rubber skin, it would help Skynet's budget :lol

Amazing how deaf and blind the studio is, a single fan knows exactly what is needed to fix this, yet all those "professionals" keep making this garbage.
