I was looking at the IMDB, and was confused by JYE's post, since the director and writer of Whiplash had nothing to do with this seeming abomination

Actors gotsta pay the bills, man. Look at some of the garbage Ben Kingsley has done alongside masterful, dramatic performances.

It's a predictable move, actually. All the actors that win an Oscar or are nominated for an Oscar always make a big budget film next. Michael Keaton's next film is a King Kong film
