Gruson I just saw that you posted on another forum that you avoided all trailers after the first one and that the twist with John Connor was a complete surprise that totally pissed you off. Maybe it was good that the rest of us had it spoiled then. :lol

Just finished it... wasn't good or bad, just sits there. It's better than TS, and about equal with T3. Jai was HORRIBLE as Kyle, and he had zero chemistry with Emilia and he took me out of the film constantly. Arnie was alright.

The actor playing John sucked. He looks like the Mrs. Doubtfire mask without the wig and glasses.

Man, he SO does. :lol

This is a thoroughly entertaining movie that has fun callbacks to the original films yet decided to honor them while completely turning them on their heads and taking the series in a completely new direction.

Throughout Genisys, elements of those previous movies show up, often in their exact same form and sometimes more indirectly, and we see how time travel has created an entirely different chain of events that alter everything, even some of the most important events and concepts of the previous stories. As I said, it’s a bold move and the film should be applauded for taking such risks — not only because of the obvious risk arising from changing beloved stories, but also because it invites comparison to those original stories.

It’s interesting, creative, and extremely entertaining. The first hour of the film is flat-out great, and is everything I’d want from a revival-reboot of the franchise. We get to see the war in the future, complete with energy weapons and large-scale combat between the human army and the machines, which fans have long wished for. We see the events that set everything from the original film in motion, from the end of the war to the discovery of the time machine and the decision about who will travel back in time to protect Sarah.

Then we see replays of the events of the original film, except something has happened to change history, and watching the reversals and unmaking of iconic moments with new iconic moments

:lol(stopped reading here couldn't take it anymore, this idiot doesn't make any sense.)

Anybody enjoyed seeing '84 Terminator step on the time displacement machine for the first time?
I thought that was pretty cool to see. I'm surprised nobody has even mentioned it. The movie was good for what it was. I just wish they would make these Terminator flicks just as hard hitting and serious as I remember T1 & T2 to be. Without that, youre not going to have a successful Terminator franchise. I could do without all the corny, humor scenes. A little here and there is ok, just to relieve some of the tension that is built after the intense action scenes.

Yes, it was the only good thing about whole fuchah war gag.

Then they've ruined it with pointless reenactments of scenes from the original film. These scenes made no sense in context of the story and added virtually nothing to the overall feel. They were just nostalgia baits for trailers.

THE ONLY WAY I SEE THE TERMINATOR franchise being saved and to continue is by, when it reverts all its rights to JAMES CAMERON, and he directs and makes the new terminator movie the future war that we all want to see.

Two problems there: 1) James Cameron is totally pre-occupied with Avatar now, and has no apparent interest in revisiting Terminator; 2) he ranted and raved about how brilliant T:5 is, bringing his judgment into question here if you thought this movie blew.

Pretty much.

I think it's safe to say that the Cameron now isn't the same James Cameron from the 80s/early 90s. Who knows what his take on Terminator is now or if it would even be good if he revisited it.

The studio should beg Peter Jackson to helm the Genisys sequel, I could see him saving it.
