Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I think most of us are already expecting it to be abysmal. I'll be shocked if it isn't. :lol

Probably the best thing to come of this is that it got Arnold back in really good shape.

Not sure but it will be a fun day in this thread after it has gone live. :lol

Definitely :lol

Even on hormones, it's crazy he's that big at nearly 70.

I hope we see Arnie screaming at a pavement too.

:lol:lol

BUT it doesn't have to be great to be enjoyable. :)

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I'm not expecting greatness from a Terminator at this point. I just want them to avoid all the dumb jokes we've been getting since T2 and take it really seriously again. With Arnold back as a bad guy instead of a good guy (i think/hope) that should help. But if they have another Marcus type of character or pull something that dumb out of left field like John was a sleeper Terminator all along or something, it's not going to be enjoyable.

Some of the rumors are mental.
Dr. Silberman traveling forward in time to become an integral part of the resistance, the new hybrid Terminator thing, etc.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

If it's not good then it's not good. One's ability to enjoy something is completely subjective to the matter.

Sincerely yours, Captain Obvious.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

It'll never happen, but would you fellas be pumped for a James Cameron/Ah-nuld Terminator sequel that wipes away the events of T3, Salvation and this POS? I know I would. :)

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Cameron will only come back if he can make Jake Sully into an Terminator. Maybe then Hot Toys could actually make a buck off Avatar.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Well, that would make a lot of people "**** their pants with their mouths open."

What a horrible quote. Imagine the logistics of Cameron making an entire theater full of people poop themselves, show after show, across the country.

Well, he did put a bunch of stupid teenage girls into a depression after Titanic.

Don't forget all the Avatards who wanted to kill themselves because they claimed they had PTSD from having to "leave Pandora and return to our dirty Earth reality." :lol

Oh **** I forgot about that :rotfl

Wow it just goes to show how empty some lives are.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

The only good thing about this films is
Apparently there is a sequence in the film that features the original T-800 in all his glory

which could mean an updated
Technoir
from Hot Toys.

:horror Is that for reals?

I hated the movie so I didn't stick around (incidentally, my all time favourite Arnie line :)) for any of the fallout afterwards but that sounds unbelievably absurd, even for fellow nerds. Oy vey! :slap

Hadn't read that one. That'd be one of the more ridiculous ideas I've seen.

As everyone knows I love T2 but even I agree that Arnold as a 'good' T-800 has long overstayed it's welcome. Does Skynet have control of any of its model 101s in the future? For that matter where's all the other models? It's just getting really implausible (he said with a straight face).

So yeah I'd love if they'd get rid of the jokes but with the general expectations of Arnie films there's no chance of that. In fact this one stands to be the most jokey yet. Who knows what crap a child Sarah Connor taught the T-800 in all that time, plus the expected 'old man' gags.

It may end up being a fun film but I doubt any of us will be taking it seriously in the Terminator canon.
