So? Is it that big of a deal? There have been discussions on this in the Salvation movie thread for a while now.

But now it's official. And sure it's a big deal if you don't want the studios to continue to rape your favorite franchises.

PG-13 doesn't scare me like it use to. After all, Dark Knight was PG-13 and it was very violent. I'm sure it will be violent, and I'm looking forward to it.

although it would be nice with an R rating, I'm ok with PG-13 - like empacker said, Dark Knight was PG-13, and same with LOTR. and i bet if terminator 2 came out today, it would be rated PG-13 now.

i'm not ok with it. this isn't the dark knight and this isn't LOTR. it's the freaking' terminator. it's just another way of hollywood trying to cash in on a franchise by not alienating a younger age group who would find a way to see the film anyway.

I miss the days when Terminator films were for people over 15 years old...

In fact, in the UK, The Terminator was rated 18...then dropped to a 15 a few years ago...

Good. More incentive to focus on the story. If you take the swearing out of T2 it would have been PG-13 as well according to today's standards (LOTR, Dark Knight, King Kong, etc.)

Weren't there some gory bullet hits in both Terminator and T2? Wasn't T3 PG-13 though?

i dont go to watch a movie for violence and excessive use of the F-bomb, if the stories good who cares :dunno

Well in this one there probably arent alot of terminators played by actors, maybe just one. You can blow robots half way to hell anyway you want for as long as you you if they look like robots. It wont effect the rating till you start showing human blood n such.

I seem to remember T3 being a pretty tame film--if not PG-13, then pretty close in terms of language and violence. Now, I don't know if that's much of a consolation or not, since it was the worst of the three...

I agree.. I have no problem with it.

I have no problem with this at all as long as this movie rocks!! who cares.

look at TDK for example pg-13 and a masterpiece.

Agreed: storyline > pointless violence, abundant sex, idiotic cursing. :D

I am sure the producers know that Terminator, in itself, is a violent genre. However, removing the Punisher: War Zone violence will put it at the PG 13 level. (I enjoyed PWZ ftr)

Everybody seems to like the Terminator TV show and that is FAR from R. I've got no problem with this being PG-13. It will do much better financially rated PG-13 than R. Thats a fact.

Plus there is always the unrated DVD that every show comes out with nowadays.
