Only ONE F Bomb is allowed in a PG-13 movie.

Just one.

Watch This Film Is Not Yet Rated.

I've seen it. It's "1-4" with an emphasis on the quotations there.

edit:
It is a common misconception that if a movie uses ^^^^ in a nonsexual context more than once, it will automatically receive an R rating. In reality, PG-13 movies are routinely allowed two or three uses. But there have been two extreme circumstances so far: Gunner Palace has 42 uses of the word, 2 used sexually,[23] and The Hip Hop Project has 17 uses. Both films were rated PG-13 on appeal from an R rating.

Man, they seriously need to apply that. Because I really havent seen one (mainstream) PG-13 film with more then one F Bomb.

Then how come Jaws is more violent then any PG-13 film today? How come Raiders has more brutal killings then any of the new Bond flicks?

I don't agree on either account. The new Bond flicks show more violence than both of those put together.

I guess we'll get a 15 rated DVD release like Die Hard 4 then?

No they dont. Jaws has people getting eaten ON CAMERA, Bond has violent fights, but no where NEAR the level of Jaws...or even Raiders....

What's crazy is movie studios are catering this movie towards children that weren't even born yet when T2 was released.

Stupid youngins and their Myspace, and their iPods, and their... hey! I was born in 86 (two years after the first Terminator) :lol. But, I know what you're saying.

Actually that's the whole reason why it's down-rated to PG-13 - all those kids missed out on the franchise when it first came about and the studios want to rope in the new generation of fans to the series by making it accessible to them. The studio will already have the old fans going to see T4 but now is great chance for them to introduce the series to younger viewers too.

Also you need to remember that TSCC is a TV show that kids can easily watch - that show gained new and younger fans to The Terminator series and introduced the films to them, the studio would not want to deny those new fans access to T4 by making it R.

They need to rate it higher so I don't have to put up with all the snivelling, chip crunching, mobile using brats, while trying to watch a film. It's bad enough with the adults.

That's another thing that I wasn't thinking about that's a problem with the rating.

Its PG-13 to sell the Playmates toys. They announced this when they partnered up. So I had time to get over it.

This will probably be the movie of the summer.

I was a kid when T2 came out, and I still saw it and bought all the toys, etc. Studios seem to forget that kids still watch R rated films too. They release R rated sequels to films like AVP and see that it doesn't make much money. But Terminator is a whole different franchise with much longer staying power in the minds of the masses. If they released an R rated cut of movies like Die Hard 4 it would have made just as much money in the end, and the same would go for Terminator Salvation. But in any case, it shouldn't be about how many times over the budget the film grosses, but about artistic integrity and what the majority of fans want.

Did it? I just don't buy that anyone watching TSCC was not doing so out of previous familiarity with the films. Any child old enough to find the show interesting has surely already seen the films. Even I, as a 1982er, might not have stuck with TSCC were I not already a big fan of the films because, much as I like TSCC and don't want it cancelled, I don't think it was action orientated enough to secure the attention spans of kids who are familiar with the films let alone create any new child fans and encourage them to seek out the films.

Well of course they mostly had some degree of familiarity but they werent necessarily fans of the films till after they saw the TV show. You'd be surprised at how many discovered the TV show first before the films. I go to cons all the time and you frquently get kids asking for guests from TSCC and not even mentioning a like for the movies. Its the samething with Stargate, people love the TV show but never talk about the movie.

I'm pretty Sure Celtic's right on this one, a really noticeable example was The Sixth Day when Arnie told the villain to go ^^^^ himself. He then refrenced it later in the film and it was changed to go screw yourself

Really? I'm surprised at that. Not so much about Stargate though what with there having been over 10 years of TV to that one film - personally I prefer the film.

Remember when they're at home kids can watch anything, they cant necessariuly go to the movies or go buy DVDs whenever they want, not when they are rated R. Current TV shows are always gonna be more easily accessibale than films....even old ones.
