I don't mind the pg-13 rating. I can live without the f bomb. I don't think thats what makes or breaks a movie. great writing and acting does.

I was in elementary school when T2 was released. But that didn't stop me from enjoying it on VHS. I'm sure most of us here didn't watch the movie in the theaters. But it still made $204,843,350 in the US, with the R-rating and produced a large fan following regardless of age.

Thats cos someone probably introduced it to you or you already had an interest in seeing it. Trust me, there's kids out there today who have never seen a Terminator movie even though its been available on VHS/DVD, they're more interested in ^^^^e like Harry Potter, Pirates, Lord of the Rings. And then there's some who arent even big movie fans.

Some kids arent that familiar with Terminator cos it was before their time, yes I know some kids caught it on VHS but those are the kids that were interested. The not-so interested kids are more likely to pay attention this time around cos the film is current and in their face and they are old enough to see it, not something from yesteryear or before their time.

When the Alien directors cut came out in 2003 lots of people still went to see it, young and old even though its been on VHS for ages cos they had missed the whole buzz in 1979 and never bothered to catch the VHS.

And I just asked my little 13 year old nephew if he's seen or heard of Terminator and the anwer was, "Never":horror

What about the TV show?

But dude, it's not surprising. In 1997 just before the Star Wars SEs hit theaters there were girls on my college course who had never seen one of the films before.

Even myself, I'm a massive movie buff but there's still probably some films I havent seen that are classics from the 1980s (though I cant think of one)...if a sequel to one of those films came out now after all this time then I might go and seek out the original and the new film (if I was old enough hence where Pg-13 comes handy)

wait till some of the freaks read that. :lol:lol:monkey3

That is absolute blasphemy!!!!!!! everyone should see the Terminator. And that PG-13 rating is total bull^^^^. I want to be as violent (or more) than the first one. PG 13 is for the birds!

Well, the MPAA has some strange standards. Alot of stuff may get a pass because it may be seen as "Sci-fi violence". I haven't seen T2 in some time, but if I remember correctly, it probably would get PG-13 by the newer guidlines.

What the ^^^^ is PG-13? :D This does kinda suck, I mean, it was T1 that first taught me with perfect pronunciation the word "Mother ^^^^er"

Great childhood memories I tell ya :monkey2

I think not. Things like being stabbed through a milk carton and the mouth and also cutting your skin off to reveal a bloody robot arm are both pretty graphic.

pg-13 that translates into 12 in the UK doesn't it? twelve year old kids are probably dropping the f bomb more than a salty sailer. :lol

But now it's official. And sure it's a big deal if you don't want the studios to continue to rape your favorite franchises.

they already have by not haveing arnold in it. he made these movies. why even make another one?

Well, Arnold's old now, so they're going with someone younger for his character, who'll fill in as a look-alike. Arnold will still voice the Terminator though.

But, I know what you mean. A Terminator without Arnold, won't feel like Terminator.

Sometimes it's 15 but I recall T3 was rated R in the USA but when it came here it was a 12A. Not that's a fuct up rating system.

Dont realy care what the rating is, and If this turns out to be one
of those movies that everybody loves then the rating will be irrelavent.

Look at Die Hard 4.... John just didn't act like he did in the first 3 films... you can say he got old and cleaned up his vocabulary, but it just didn't feel like the John we use to know.

I think those who thought Die Hard 4 was just fine and didn't feel like the PG-13 rating changed the tone of the movie then... well the same people will probably feel the same way about Terminator Salvation.

Those who thought Die Hard 4 was neutered will probably feel Salvation will be watered down.

Besides, I think the Terminator series is just getting rebooted for a whole new generation. The trailer says "Forget the Past".... just a hint that they are starting the story over, and while they are at it producers decided to make a PG-13 series.

And someone mentioned that if it was R it would make the same just as much money. I disagree. PG-13 movies make the most money because younger viewers can also buy the tickets. I'm sure many of you realize teens buy random PG-13 tickets just so they can watch a R-rated film. So from the studio's standpoint, why not just make it PG-13 and allow teens to pay for the actual movie they are going to see instead?

On a side note, Taken is probably the most violent PG-13 film I've seen in recent times, or maybe ever. I actually thought it was R rated. So maybe if Salvation is at least as violent as that one, I'd be cool with it.

DH4 sucked and the rating had nothing to do with it. Even the unrated DVD sucked the sweat off my balls.
