PG-13 rating or not if the movie is good the movie is good. They probably cut out the bale argument with the gaffer though...

My issue with the rating thing is this.

If a movie is made, and it just is PG-13.....I have no problem with that.

But if a movie is filmed, and its defintly an R, and the studio cuts it down ....thats where I have a problem. It does ruin the movie. You lose some important things. And yes, violence in the context of the story, can be important.

yeah,I agree. Like if they want to shoot it for pg-13 then go for it. But don't hand them an R rated script and chop it to hell for a different rating.

From the trailers, which look fantastic IMO, most of the destruction and violence seems to be delivered on a larger scale (eg. Transforminators stepping on buildings full if people rather than a more intimate and grisly alloyed fist punching through someones chest). I agree that it would be difficult to fit a film known for it's occassional graphic brutality into a PG-13 rating but it's been done successfully. I've seen Dark Knight referenced heavily and it's a good example. I even think TSCC has done a nice job of "artfully" portraying violence. Let's be honest, this is not Jim Cameron's Terminator. But as long McG can
paint a faithful picture of the future war and add to the intriguing Terminator mythology, I'll gladly trade that for some blood splatters. And as Harry Knowles at AICN points out, PG-13 ratings aren't what they used to be.
