Yeah the finish looks screen accurate. You don't want it too chromed. Mirrored chrome would be too much. It's more of a steel chrome finish.

Dave, I concur -it looks perfect as it is-

I wonder if people can call this killer robot still a "doll"

Re: Official Terminator thread.

I was looking at the pictures again and noticed a strong lighting similarity to this shot from T3, and I think looking at them both really helps to show the finish on the metal is perfect.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Yep, great eye Dave and MF, more "steel" in finish than chrome IMO.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

You must get 4! 3 to open and have each one with a different weapon in hand. Of course, one that's unopened.

that's precisely the lighting style i tried to emulate... pics that i took with flash made it look washed out and bland. this figure looks excellent in low light

glad you guys like the pics! :blissy

Re: Official Terminator thread.

By the way, Mine shipped from HK last week.
Due any day now! :chew

And yes...STEEL! Not chrome. Never liked those old chrome styrene models that were nice, but small, 1/9th I think, back in the day. A buddy had one. I liked it, but I met a guy at a con in LA back in 1995, that painted a nice resin cast 1/1 Terminator head, and he had used some kind of graphite paint, and polished and layered it a lot, polished the hell out of it...buffed it a lot, and that thing was SMOKIN' BADA$$! MUCH better than any chrome ones. I feel I have to always dirty up anything that's chromed.

But anyway, I bet a nice wash/wipe of steel and black on the whole thing, and then a light drybrush of steel or silver, just to hit high areas, will make it look metal enough. It actually looks pretty good. It's just too uniform a silver. That's what makes it look plastic. You can push the metal effects using darks and pure metal colors, and they look amazingly more metallic, without all that expensive chroming.

Or not! :lol

Just an idea.
I'll know more when the little bugger's on his base, standing in front of me...eyes all aglow....
This is gonna ROCK!

Re: Official Terminator thread.

So what is the endo made off? Is it fragile? I ordered 2 of those, but 3 would be better... But there is so much other cool stuff coming from SSC... !

Almost all plastic, and ppl reported it is fragile.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Just got my Endoskeleton from that guy on Ebay (shipped from HK).

Theres an issue with the batteries being very loose inside the compartment, which makes weak contact points. So if you notice your endo's eyes dont light up or dont stay on, just wedge a piece of paper in the compartment to push the batteries againts the contact points.

Yes, he is quite fragile. The fingers are the most fragile, followed by the limited movement on the wrists, angles and neck area.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Those pics are awesome! Funny though how SS's T-800 Arnold is taller than the Endo when actually they should be of equal height. That's what happens when you have two different companies making them. I'm tempted now to just switch the head over to a Hot Toys NGL body for consistency.
