Congrats! :rock

Was the styrofoam ripped out around Cap's shield, or did they actually do something different with it? Did they give you any notice that it was coming before they charged you? I haven't heard anything about mine yet.

Yes, congrats and details, nothing on mine yet as well.

I cancelled both of your orders. No need to thank me. :monkey3

Yes, some of the styrofoam was carved out by the bottom of the shield upon arrival, but thankfully Captain Americas shield was perfect, along with everything else, except batteries weren't included! :thud:

But yeah fellas I got my Ex from eBay for 380 and not from SS (im figuring it woulda been about the same with shipping charges and CA state tax )

Ill post some pics once Ive got the chance. :) Hope you guys get yours soon!

Just received this email from Sideshow today. Why don't I get a warm fuzzy feeling from this?

Thank you for your patience while you await the fulfillment of your Thanos order. We wanted to share with you updated information about your item prior to its shipment.

Some of our customers reported that for a portion of the statues received the shield section was loose or detached. Therefore, our in-house production and design staff have carefully inspected every remaining Thanos item prior to shipment. Our artists repaired any loose fitting shields and replaced any shields that may have been unattached. They also inspected the overall figures prior to re-boxing to make sure there were no other factory flaws.

However during this process, some packing materials, shipping boxes and colored graphic boxes have received handling wear and tear and should not be expected to be in mint condition. As such we would like to offer a 10% discount on your order to compensate for any distressed packaging. Even with this discount, you will continue receive full Reward Point earnings on your order.

Many of the Thanos collectors have let us know that they would rather receive the piece with slight box issues than not at all. However, we understand if this inconvenience affects your decision to maintain your Thanos order with us. If you would prefer to cancel your order, please contact our customer service department by Tuesday, the 10th of May. If we do not hear from you we will assume that you are satisfied with this offer and your order will process on May 11th as scheduled.

We appreciate your business and look forward to assisting you!

I got a similar email, I find it very, very strange that they talked about making sure shields weren't loose or unattached, when the actual issue wasn't loose shields, it was shields being BROKEN from being ATTACHED.
I honestly thought they were going to make the shield removable when they went back to the factories...that would have been the smart thing to do. Sounds like they just did the exact same thing as before and inspected each one off of the boats.

The issue still lies in that if the shield is attached, and UPS decides to act like UPS, there will still be broken shields.

I have all of my deliveries sent to my workplace, and on several occasions I have gone up to reception to grab my sideshow boxes, and UPS has left them on the ground upside down, on the side etc.

I emailed the guy at SS back asking if they made enough inventory to replace orders that still have the same problem. No reply yet.

My thoughts and concerns exactly.

In my question to SS about them having enough inventory for even more exchanges they replied basically saying they had a very limited number of replacements and the sooner we contact them about broken shipments the better the chance of getting it replaced. He asked me if I would like to have mine processed earlier than the estimated ship date and I said yes. I told him, charge me right now if you want and they did. My card was charged and it should go out today or Monday.

So it sounds like if too many of this new batch are still showing up broken that some people will be just crap out of luck. At that point my guess is they would offer a small refund to make up for the defect or just allow you to do a full return, but that's just a guess.

Thanks for the update. At this point, if the replacement comes in broken then I am just going for the refund.
