Love the LOLcat. This was a quasi-must have piece for me when announced as Thanos is one of the best characters in the Marvel Universe IMO. And though flawed, the Infinity Gauntlet mini-series was a great read. But now that the piece is unleashed, well, scratch the quasi prefix - this one is mine.

With regards to it being a universal grail piece - I agree that grails seem to happen by accident but also that a piece can be a personal grail, even if won't fetch thousands of dollars on e-bay. As an example, the SS Diablo Overthrown diorama is probably my favorite piece in my collection and was regarded by some on this board as an instant-grail - bit of an oxymoron, I think - but despite its incredible style and detail, the popularity and accessibility of the piece couldn't compete with say, the SS Doom. Any way - like I said, its a grail for me and so is this Thanos dio. Open and enjoy!

LOL. "Comiquettes" are just statues. Which, if we are just talking Marvel, were made by Bowen long before Sideshow made any PFs. :slap

Also, I'm pretty sure statues were made lond before the times of acient Greece.

Tools have been around forever and obviously still are.

i can tell youre noobie.

cloth simply CAN NOT replicate the detail and dynamics that a fully sculpted piece can. With cloth you are at the mercy of so many variables...the type of cloth used, the thickness, are there wires added to sculpt it yourself, the color, etc.

I'm no noob. Collections and brains aren't measured in post counts. I was collecting PF's long before this Comiquette ____e started and I want figures like Silver Surfer etc that can't be PF because of Sideshow's stoopid mixed media rules to be in scale with a PF line that is 1/4 scale and has been around longer.
Some pieces certainly do not work in fabric as well as others. It comes down to material choice, implementation and pose.
A statue like Red Skull PF (which is done right) in fabric and at 20 inches is going to be waaaay better than any Red Skull 16 inch polystone Comiquette version in any pose.
Yes the Spidey PF conversion is nice, but the original in my opinion is flawed in pose, base and fabric choice. I am happy in some ways that the Spidey Comiquette will be 1/4 scale like Venom is and Carnage appears to be. But it still leaves the Comiquette lines' scale all over the place and characters I want out of whack with my existing PF collection.
You know, the collection I started BEFORE Comiquettes came out.
Cos I'm a noob.

getting back on topic...AWESOME representation of thanos and lady death. ordered the exclusive version and am looking forward to gracing my shelves with this one.

Meh... if you like the statue buy it.. it you want 1/4 you maybe waiting a long time... I think by saying theres another comi coming is confusing everyone when the preview sculpt is the same statue.

Also I think its unfair to complain till we see this at comic con.

Comiquette = fancy name for a statue.

OK, so I was a bit confused by the preview of the Thanos comiquette. I wasn't sure if it was a preview of a separate comiquette or if the preview was changed to be this dio. So, I put up a thread in the ask SS section. Is the preview a separate comiquette or this Dio?

Dusty stated that the comiquette preview was just that. That means that a true 1/4 or 1/5 scale SS Thanos is still on the way. Every one seems happy this piece is 20" big. I'm sure this includes the base. That means that Thanos is roughly Bowen scale. Not too happy about that. I will be looking forward to the Thanos comiquette with great anticipation.

Sadly I think Sideshow is pulling Rope-A-Dope on us. They said Comiquette during the preview sometime back but in the interview video clip they said it morphed into a Diorama.I really wanted to order this but I couldn't get pass that face. Its like looking at a woman with a gorgeous body but her face is so jacked up that any fantasy you had is suddenly dashed to pieces. Damn shame.
