I'm trying my hardest not to purchase this bad boy.
I grew up thinking that Thanos was the ultimate bad guy.
Seeing how some of the gents here (Corrose) are having some issues with it helps to stave off getting this one.
Must browse some porn to better distract myself! :panic:

Looks like Thanos is quite a bit taller than MD when the two are placed side by side, as shown in Risingstar's photo:

DeathSize.jpg

Well, her base is also placed a little far behind, so maybe not so taller. Maybe the owners can confirm this or not

video, my reviews are pretty redundant but enjoy. gives a good video look at the statues.

I got a little excited, I'll admit.

Had to share though!! :rock

Now back to the Thanos goodness!!! :lecture

Does the light-up feature come in both the regular and exclusive?
Yes!
Just got mine in and before I can even try to enjoy it, I have to deal with a broken shield also.

As far as the light up goes, does anyone's work?
I pulled out the tab, made sure the batteries were in place, no luck with it lighting up. I switched the batteries to brand new ones, still no luck. I looked closer at the infinity gems and it looks like they were painted over. Does the light up work and the paint blocking it out, or is the paint supposed to be thin enough to see the light through?

Anyone able to help?
Cessna on SF stated that some paint was covering up a part of Thanos that needs to plug in to work. He sanded his down a bit and says it works great now! Yeah, it's Charlie Browned, but at least it's easy. :)

Okay so after tinkering around with this piece awhile, I did get it to light up. However the connection is not solid at all, I have to manually push him back some to make it light upm in its normal position connected to the base the connection is weak and the lights flicker.

Now light up features to me are just perks. I never buy a piece BECAUSE they light up, most of the time I make sure it works, and they never get turned on again. I will say in my personal opinion if you are buying this BECAUSE of the light up, or the light up was keeping you from cancelling you might be disappointed.

Again this is just my 2 cents, but the power of the light is really bad. I just got my HT War Machine in this week, and his chest light is so bright, it actually is hard to look at directly. You can see it very bright even in daylight. I had hopes this piece would be extremely bright also, but the brightness is an incredible letdown. I'm looking at it right now, power turned on in a lit room and I can barely tell it's a light up function.

Also for some reason I pictured the gems as being transluscent plastic, or god forbid smoked glass orbs. What it looks like they did was make the gems out of clear (whatever material) and paint over them with paint. Its thin enough paint to where some light shines through, but I bet the paint is blocking a lot out. I personally would have paid another $15-$20 for the gems to haave been something like glass to where they had some depth, shine and reflection.

But alas, the review is not all doom and gloom, while I still think the face looks like a silly pig, the overall presence of this piece is really impressive. MD is stunning, and the exclusive head is wonderful. I think for the amount you paid, you get your money's worth. I do not feel like I overpaid for this piece. Scales I could honestly give two craps about, I don't care if a 1/5 Spider-Man is next to a 1/4 Venom or something, I buy what I think looks cool, so with that said, I think the scale is just fine. If this piece had been in line with the surfer comiquette, it would look nice Im sure, but the price tag would probably have been $499 and probably would have never sold out.

So all in all I think this is a pretty cool set, aside from the broken cap shield.

Hope that helps!

I read your post up until the bolded portion that I appropriately made evident in the quote above....

It was at that point that I decided you were wrong. Nothing more. Nothing less. You're wrong. Plain and simple.

I honestly didn't read the rest of your post because of that....because you're wrong. :lecture

Thanos arrived today!
I have to say, his grin grows on you after looking at him for a while.

Thanks Divo, I stand corrected LOL

Hey, Corrose. Did you try sanding down the paint on the connection between Thanos and the base at all?

Ave
Your light up pic makes the gauntlet look how I wanted it to look, you using a long exposure to capture that or is yours that bright? It would be awesome if mine is dim due to the connection

Here are a few more pics, enjoy the pure evil!!

The lights are not as bright as I wish them to be. They should have used something else. BUT, they do shine bright when the lights are out.

Yes my camera works magic at times :lecture
