That looks fantastic, Jen! Well worth the trouble of standing in line at the post office to ship her to you. :lol

Cool...are you ever gonna bloody up his uniform???

Can't imagine a zombie keeping anything he wears clean...

Hi everybody! This is my first post. As a recent "The Dead" fan I don't own any but I have my pre-order in for 805. I received my ornament a couple of weeks back and this weekend I finally had time to do the thing.

My backstory for this guy is pretty simple and helps explain the outfit choice.

"As the Solanum outbreak spread, and government crumbled, civilians took action and formed Zombie Elimination Squads. Many of these valiant men and women fell to the overwhelming force of the zombies. But no one felled by zombies stays down long..."

Solanum???

I take it you've read The Zombie Survival Guide or World War Z...or both...

Great fig...simple, but good work...

Both. I'm a big fan.

Thanks. I really should do simple full turnarounds of this guy. There's a lot these images don't show like the chunk taken out of his upper arm from the attack that infected him, a nasty leg wound and a big gash on his back.

Once my Peril Unlimited zombie shows up and I customize him I'll put them together in a larger shoot.

I'm done with my first custom WWI Zombie with parts/accessories for the 2nd now on the way. Pics here when they're both complete. :rock

That ornament headsculpt really is stellar! I guess I'll have to get an extra and make a figure too.

Never got around to posting a pic of my dead collection. Sorry for the crappy pic. It's from a IPhone. Can't wait for the other two to come one day!

The thing I love about this line is that no two people pose any of the zombies the same way. And my collection looks identical to yours too!

Here's a question...

WHY IS PATIENT ZERO SO DAMN EXPENSIVE???!!!

I mean, for someone who is interested in this line, wouldn't he be a good place to start???

But he goes for ridiculous prices on ebay...

:(

Hes the first and hes very limited and yes I paid a lot. Worth it for me because it completed the collection so far.

WHY IS PATIENT ZERO SO DAMN EXPENSIVE???!!!

It's because there are only 300 of him, so only 300 people can ever be in the position of owning a complete set. There are 2500 freaks here, and it is easy to assume that 300 of those would like to own a Patient Zero. Then there are other forums, and collectors from around the world that would like one. The demand far out weighs the supply. This is why the price has inflated to such a degree.

Creecher speaks the truth... the first in a line almost always demands a higher price. But couple that with such a small number and you have a pricey figure on your hands.

I imagine Sideshow did not expect The Dead to be this popular?

Patient Zero was a test. From what I've been able to figure out, 300 is the break-even point on a figure. If Zero sold well, they got their investment back and know there is demand for these figures. If Zero didn't, they only have to get rid of 300 to get their investment back. Obviously, Zero did REALLY well, and now is worth $$$ because of his limited edition and first of the line status.

Plus he is the only zombie with a snack.

and he makes me cry everytime i see the empty spot next to my other 3 dead figs.:monkey2

I really feel for you guys. I've got the "completist" bug too, but I know I don't think I would be able to spend $300+ on Zero. I'm just so thankful I was one of the 50 non-attendees that got one. That was a stressful Pre-order (before the days of PPOs).

I still think we'll see Patient Zero and Subject 5 revisits. We've already gotten two outfit changes, so those two wouldn't surprise me one bit now. I could see a 300 edition of 5 in a tan outfit and a 1,000 edition size of a Zero color change. Probably a 300 edition of a 860 variant as well. At this point we can have Universe A and B editions! :lol

maybe, but in a way i wouldnt want them to rerelease PZ cuz it would be like a slap in the face to those who worked so hard to secure one. i guess im just too nice.:D
