Never got the sense that he was a ******. A smartass at times, sure, which I believe Spidey is supposed to be, but not a ******.

****** is just another word for teenager nowadays

Peter Parker isn't supposed to be like other teenagers. We're supposed to actually like him. He's supposed to be a nerdy kid with a heart of gold. In ASM, he was a douchy social outcast. Of course you're an outcast. You act like a ******!

Harry looks to top Peter in the ****** department. Maybe becoming Spider-Man will have made Garfield Peter less of a ******?

I don't remember him being an *** with Aunt May

He came in late and forgot some eggs, but that's because he's out being Spidey

He raises his voice by asking her to 'please go to sleep' because he doesn't want her to worry about him and he can't tell her why he's coming in late or with bruises

ermmm... he had that argument with his Uncle Ben about his dad, but again, that was emotionally fueled due to a lot of supressed anger, but hardly ****** behaviour

he forgot to pick May up from work, that's about it but i'd hardly go so far as to call him a ****** for that, he just forgot, that's all, the lad was busy!

I like AG as Parker, much prefer him to Tobey Maguire. I know they are very different interpretations of the character, but I just ain't a fan of Tobey in the role, I liked Cider House Rules though...

Still, none of that is Peter.

Pete should be the nerdy science dweeb.
Afraid to stand up to athority, and gneraly meek and quiet. His poweres give him a breef moment of superiority, but the death of uncle ben instills in him a sense of greater responsability. He goes from being meek, to being reserved.

The Character of Lenard from Big bang Theory is a better peter parker.

:exactly: But Webb decided he had to turn him into a skateboarding, hipster ********* to identify with today's kids. :lol

Let's not forget that ending about "promises" and a dead Captain Stacy. If that isn't an insult, disrespectful and full blown douchery, I don't know what is. If anything, that act is what's going to get Gwen killed.

Say what you will about Spider-Man 3 and "Emo Spidey", but Tobey Maguire actually had a kind soul in the Raimi films. He's goofy and nerdy but has a great heart. A true hero, especially in Spider-Man 2. He seemed like a genuinely good dude, even when he was constantly being **** on.

Lol everyone complainting will be there day one to see more ********* Parker.

Not I. I didn't see ASM in theaters. I didn't pay money to see it either. Our old landlord used to leave us movies to watch if we returned them to her in a timely manner. It was the only reason I bothered watching it and all of my doubts and skepticism rang true.

I just posted in the PotA topic how I had doubts and skepticism about that reboot. I went in with negative feelings and ended up loving it. So I don't think it's a problem with me hating it because I wanted to hate it. The trailer for this one looks good enough. I'd be willing to pay for a Redbox Rental probably.

Check minus the pocket protector stereotype

Afraid to stand up to athority.

Check. He doesn't do that in the movie.

and generaly meek and quiet.

Check. People here have already talked about his mumbling.

His poweres give him a breef moment of superiority.

Check, he gets super confident and jokey when in costume.

but the death of uncle ben instills in him a sense of greater responsability.

Doesn't take stock of Uncle Bens words until after the Stacy dinner, but Check.

Somewhat. He DOES stay away from Gwen, it's only aFter his Aunt tells him he has a right to be happy that he decides to break the promise he was forced to make and be happy, with Gwen.

With everyone minus their Aunt in their life dead, nobody here give up someone they love over a promise they were forced to make
