I remember even hating it then. I did and still like Spiderman 1 though. It has aged well but I think its better. I think the first two X-Men films still hold up fine though even though I know a lot of people might disagree.

Although crappy VGA phones were arriving in 2004, most people still had 2002 and 2003 models, I'm sure all those New Yorkers were carrying around 900 buck phones though.

Also I went to public school, and almost everyone there had a cell phone. It was a verizon phone that wasn’t that expensive at all. I even remember at that time the cool thing was boost mobile and all those bleep commercials. Most of those phones had cameras as well. Dinosaurs weren’t walking around in 2004 man

Ah, so it's the kids that hate the Raimi Spider-Man films. No wonder. I guess CelticP was the stand out exception to the rule. He was a kid and he appeared to love them.


I don't see what Spider-Man fan/Comic book film fan/film fan could hate Spider-Man 2. The train scene? That killed it for some of you? The message there isn't that the people are these cynical ****s that want to hurt Spider-Man by telling people who he is. No, they have a respect for him because he saved their lives. They were all about to die and they knew it. There's, what, a woman with a new born baby, two little kids, a business guy that reassures him that "it's okay", and a couple of dudes who are reminded of their own sons. Yeah, they have an incentive to tell everyone.

Great thing to dwell on. Certainly makes for a horrible movie.

That wasn’t my problem with the movie. I just wasn’t a fan of how things were executed in the movie. Just wasn’t for me, I don’t think it is a bad movie though. But people forget X-2 came out a year earlier and that movie was just as “dark and serious” as most of the superhero movies today. And like I said, I found Spiderman 1 to be better, so it isn’t anything against Raimi’s Spiderman movies.
