What's the new direction though?

Oscorp ****ing up Peter's life? Eh, been there. Peter's responsibility in conflict with his girl? Uhhh. His girl being in danger with yet another green meanie? Uhhhhhhhhh. City loving Spider-Man and kids dressing up like him (Spider-Man 3 had that but I don't think anyone dug it). I guess the whole deal with the Osborns is sorta new, this and the whole eugenics theme. Is that what "most people" are excited about?

Let's face it though, we can only judge what we see. Right now, it's the look and costumes, what we see in the trailers and tv spots, etc. God forbid people tear apart weird looking villain costumes. If you think that's bad, just wait until people watch the film and start nitpicking the actual plot/story! :lol

The new direction is in the tone, the movie looks like it’s dropping the super serious, grounded tone of the first movie, and embracing the crazy world of Spiderman.

Oh, I thought ironwez meant this new series in general (the Garfield/Webb ASM movies or whatever). Sorry. I have a bad knack for just assuming that everyone that is pumped for this one loved the first TASM.

See, I hated TASM. With this sequel, it does seem zanier and "more fun" than TASM and I do like the Spidey suit. That's why I'm a bit conflicted myself.

Nobody said that? Nobody ever said these designs were the greatest thing since electricity? We all shared all problems. Just because some are excited for the movie doesn't mean we think it's a masterpiece. But it's cool to ride marvels nuts with all the crap they did with there characters and releasing decent movies like iron man 3 and Thor 2 which IMO weren't that damn great.
Stop swearing up and down that the fans think this is perfect. Nobody said that and ever will. Most people just happen to like a new direction.

What pturtle said. And don't assume things

Nah like I said before it was decent? Why would I follow oscorp for? You serious?

If memory serves, it was like a page later, you quoted OSCORP and agreed after just defending it a couple pages before. Not saying one had to do with the other, but it was curiously suspicious. :lol

I "loved" The Amazing Spiderman. I would rate it an 8/10.

I love that Webb is back, I like the cast alot, I like that they have a plan for the future and aren't writing each of these off the cuff, I like they are avoiding alot of the cliches Raimi played up way too slapstick.

Rhino will be back. As long as next time he's mutated full on, not only is a mech forgivable, it's great for keeping things fresh.

Electro isn't even a concern. Good actor, looks fine. I think most people are rightfully more concerned about Harry now.

I don't like the way Harry looks. This is my only concern so far. I really hope he is not "the green goblin". Harry as a "hob" or "protogoblin" with Norman back in 3 as a proper Goblin will be the only way I'm ok with this. Since I don't know exactly what the plan is yet, I will give them a little swimming room. But if Harry and Norman are both dead and gone after this and thats the only Green Goblin we get in this series I will be very put off.

Lol seriously I expressed countless times what I disliked. What a completely strange thing to say. So you think I'm following oscorp now? I thought asm was mediocre when I first saw it . Wtf?

This movie seems like it's going to be a lot more fun than the first one. With hopefully some SERIOUS serious moments towards the end there if ya know what i mean. Only thing thats going to suck IMO is the music. Kids today are forgetting how much music can play a HUGE part in how a movie feels and flows. Imagine MOS will some Williams thrown in, an instant 1 star higher just cause of that.

I wish i was hearing this when ASM2 was starting.

This is what were getting. (maybe my mind will change later)

I'm a pretty serious Elfman fan, even went to see him on that tour thing he did last year, but I never liked his Spiderman music, just sounded like a mishmash of all his other scores to me. :dunno I'm withholding judgement on Zimmer for a bit. Want to hear his material in context.

Don't know much of his work really to be honest. I just think that theme sounds very Spiderish/radioactive/gangly to me anyways.

I say screw movie theaters, just remove that out of the equation, i'm ready for these movies to go straight to bluray.

I'll pay the $30.00 for the disk plus an additional $20.00 to make up for the ticket just to have the movie for immediate home consumption.

**** the movie theater, I don't want to get shot up and killed.

In the future you can just close your eyes and they'll beam the movie so it's on the inside of your eyelids
