OK yeah...pretty much entirely agree with that Red Letter Media review. This may be right down there with Spiderman 3, with ASM 1 being not much better.

Come on!!!! Spider-man 3??? You need to watch it again... All the SM films are oscar winners compared to that one.

Why do people like ASm so much. The fights were short, the score was boring and it felt really rushed. This one feels more like a spiderman film. Did people just like ASm better because it was dark? What happened to the fun in comic book movies? Sure spiderman can be a dark character but he's also fun and colorful sota like this movie. i dont get the overwhelming hate and batman and robin comparisons. Whatever. Guess thats just the way it is.

I thought ASM was pointless when I first saw it. While I enjoyed more with a second viewing it still did not really justify it's reason for being made. But the cast is great... and I personally love James Horner's Spidey theme.

But I really liked part 2. I have no problem keeping up with all the stories. I don't see the jumbled mess that Spider man 3 has and I do not see how anyone can compare this with Batman and Robin... Or Batman Forever for that matter.. Other then the Max character.

It's sort of weird being on this side of the fense. I was on the other for MOS as saomeone who did not like it but I could understand the reasons why others did. Here I just don't get the hate and the over the top comparisons and I respect many of those posters so it's not like it's personal or anything. I wonder if this is how MOS fans feel. LOL!!

Its ok to like movies that 50% of people hate.

Hell, its ok to like a movie that 99% of people hate.

The world won't stop spinning if you like S3, TDKR, ASM1, ASM2 and MOS. :lol

Late to the party but I finally watched this last night. I really enjoyed it. They perfected Spiderman. Every time he was on screen it looked like a still from the comics, his wit and his movements were perfect.

Can't say the same about Peter Parker though.:lol He was still a ****** but that was mitigated thanks to his interactions with Gwen which I thought were really well done. I agree with the pacing issue, but for me, the 'good' were so great that they far outweigh the negative. Solid movie. Look forward to what they do with the other Sinister Six characters. 7.5/10 for me.

If a little kid put on Batman's cowl and stood up to an enemy he'd be obliterated while Bruce and Selina watched on TV from their bed (or after the fact due to Alfred googling "little dead non-quitter" and texting it to them.)

Gotham would be super f'd anyway like I pointed out after first seeing it. Who'd want to move there? Nuclear fumes blowing down river, the government wiped out and the ones who are left exposed as liars who abused the system. All major shipping lanes out of commission for months, massive infrastructure and roadway damage, destroyed bridges and tunnels. The economy is f'd completely all the major buissnesses have been out of commission for 6 months, their world wide clients would have needed to move on and find other companies. Most of the CEO's were executed by Crane. Wayne Enterprises is bankrupt and under investigation for creating a nuclear bomb. Thousands of criminals still lose. The prisons destroyed. Thousands likely raped and abused, starving. All the cops malnourished and injured. Martial law...

Batman, what an *******. Guy's legacy literally destroyed the city.

Lmao as I said earlier. Peter wont be shooting crossbows at aunt may when she's trying to bring him dinner.

Now this is what should have been in there instead of Gwens Dad. :lol

Saw this last night and loved it. Dont know how anybody could of hated it. And I fricking loved Fox's Electro. He was way more badass than I thought he'd be. Honestly I can even say the same for Harry. But I thought in the first film aunt may figured out that peter was Spidey?

That was one of the best parts about the movie, the ending. Very uplifting and positive. That's how any superhero movie should end.

Agreed. It gave that feeling of a Hero being there for all time

OMG that is fricken brilliant :lol

Yea even yahoo news posted they expect a huge drop for this movie. Seems like everyone wants spidey to fail lately. Really sad time to be a spidey fan. While I enjoyed this movie everyone else in the world seems to hate it, the cartoon thats out now is garbage, and the only thing that is doing good right now is the comics from what I hear. i just want spidey to be number 1 again.

I don't think everyone hates it, they're just mor vocal about it whereas those who liked it don't generally go back to repeatedly say they liked it.

But I take your point, people don't seem to want Spidey as much as they used to

With GotG seemingly a lock for being awesome I will say that if DOFP turns out even decent this will indeed probably be an unbeatable year for CBM's. Sure there's 2016 with Cap 3 and BvS but BvS is iffy at best and Part 3's are pretty much never as good as Part 2's.

Something I realize the other day. I don't even know what Amazing Spiderman is about......

yeah I know he gets his powers and he makes the suit and he talks to Gwen etc etc. But what the hell was the plot of that movie? :lol:lol

Even the plot of spiderman 3 was understandable. But with Amazing Spiderman I just get these glimpses of scenes from when they fight and when the cop dad dies, But WTF was the motive of the bad guy?

Why did he want to turn people into lizards for a couple of hours? what was the point?

To make them better more durable beings. He first wanted to just grow his arm back then after feeling how better it was to be a Lizard, how more robust he was he wanted to bless mankind with the same gift. He just didn't ask if they wanted that gift.

question for the faithful. given that this movie series is kinda-sorta following the ultimates comics, what if they used the venom/carnage symbiote to bring back gwen from the dead, as they do in the comics? ( She's Carnage, but could just as eaisly be venom)

Something's in comics are best left in comics. Hopefully well never see Lois Lane try to trick superman into Marrying her, Batman walking around in a mummy costume or Tony stark being stalked by his sentient armour that "wants him inside it"

because it's a terribly written and terribly paced film that has no real through line for the plot and lacks any kind of focus? That's just my take, I just want more for my spider-man films. there's a good movie in there that could have been so much better if certain plot points would have been rearranged to make a much more focused film.
