Spider-man is receiving the same "critiques" that Superman is. He's Marvel's Flagship character just as Superman is arguably DC's flagship character (with Batman a super close second).

I'm not surprised by all the critics of this movie, but at least...in my opinion...they have nailed the character. People fuss about Supes snappin' necks and how he's "Hopeman", etc. etc. but we saw Spidey like he just swung out of the comic books.

The fact that they nailed Spiderman himself so perfectly really goes a long way. And I don't think it's a terrible movie outside of that despite it's flaws. I would tend to agree, even though I feel ASM1 is the tighter movie.

If I could only own one Spiderman movie?

Yikes!

ASM 2

That's what I'm talking about.

But S2 is still an incredible movie.

Aunt May's rescue still gives me goosebumps.

Train battle is bad ass.

Spiderman outfit in garbage is sad.

JJJ is a god!

Not as good as Aunt May working as a nurse during a power outage.

Not as good as the weird ass clock tower battle with all those video game gears/levels.

Not as sad as Peter Parker and Aunt May having a good cry in Petah's room.

Not as good as JJJ text messages/emails.

:lol :lol :lol

I felt the ending was the best ending to a superhero movie Ive seen. Its why spiderman is so relatable. Carry on even when everything seems broken and lost. There is always hope and the world will always need you. Thats a great ending and I love how it was done. Thats spiderman for you. He always gets the short end of the stick and bad things always happen to him but he still finds the strength to carry on and face new obstacles with a smile on his face. I just love the character for that.

Yep, you said it. Just don't expect diehard fans of SM3 to appreciate that. ;) Different strokes for different folks and all.

Have you watched SM2 recently? It drags in many places and the flow seems off. A lot of complaints about ASM2 are just as evident in SM2....

to be honest the first time I saw spiderman 2 I didn't love it. i was a little disappointed actually. It took me a couple of views until I liked it and until I got what everyone was saying.

I never liked that Oc Doc was a hobo, and a shirtless hobo.... that always bothered me. i knew he had a coat but I never liked how he was a hobo for most of the movie.
Mary Jane has always been really annoying so the second movie didn't help, i really hated her.

But like I said it took me a couple of views to get it

He was in need of that affection, it was a nice scene.

I ONLY own one spiderman movie, and that is spiderman 1

I own every superhero movie out there other than these 10:

Punisher Lundgren
1990 Cap
Superman 3
Superman 4
Catwoman
Elektra
GR2
X3
Superman Returns
MOS

I almost didn't buy IM3. :lol

I own TDKR and B&R. :yuck

Mary jane was never really supposed to be like that. She is really supposed to be a energetic girl that doesnt want to be tied down by relationships. She isnt needy and she always fought her captors off or atleast tried. She would dance and party to hide the pain from her childhood experiences and stuff. She would flirt and stuff with flash and harry but she never liked them liked that and only really had eyes for peter once they went to college.

I don't know where the whole "videogame" adjective came from... It's a pretty dumb thing to say, I've never played a game that looks or moves even remotely like any of the scenes in ASM2.

Also, I've played videogames that have a more solid, robust and more compelling stories than most movies.
