To me it makes no sense to bring back Raimi to do a whole new installment for spidey again. He did his 3 movies already. I'd like to see a Guy Ritchie take on Spiderman. Give me something new, but also really good.

Got a feeling Sony will still be involved just not creative control i just want him handled better.

I haven't seen TASM or TASM2, are they any good? I was thinking of watching them both tonight.

Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot! Most, if not all my buddies said the movies were bad, it kinda put me off watching them. I sort of liked Sam Raimi's trilogy, as campy and nonsensical as it was.

I am in the minority here.. But I thought that ASM 2 was the best of all the Spidey films because it was the one that got Spider-man the character right. ASM 1 is better after I watched it a second time... The first time I just thought.... "Why?"...... Why reboot... But overall I like ASM 1 and 2 better the original trilogy. SM 2 may still be the best Spidey movie of all of them (though I think I still might like ASM 2 more because of how well they nailed Spidey) SM 3 is awful and I always thought that the Original was overrated with a poor villain.. bad effects... and poor action sequences. I did love the origin story in that one though.

Personally I am disappointed that they probably won't finish the story of ASM.... I thought Andrew Garfield was great as Spidey and Parker and would like to see them give that series a more fitting ending.

Personally, I think Spiderman 1 is the best of all the Spidey films, Spiderman 2 was good, but it has a few problems people like to overlook. Also, I know I’m in the minority here, but I prefer Dafoe’s Green Goblin to Molina’s Doc Ock.

You and me both brother. :duff

I love ASM for a lot of reasons. AnoAnother thing is that Garfield loves Spidey. He had
A good idea of what he was doing. Maguire was more last minute cast and did an acting job. Garfield tried to bring Spidey to life. I alalso love Gwen over MJ so that's another huge plus.

I'm glad it's folding. I was pissed back in 2011/2012 with the reboot and pretty much every decision (and sequel) thereafter. Good riddance.

Hopefully the next cinematic iteration of the character is better than what was given to audiences in the past 7 years. Spider-Man deserves better.

I don't think Spiderman deserves better than Garfield though, pity he got mixed up in this ****. He was yards, miles, continents better than Maguire.

I wouldn't like to see a Guy Ritchie take on anything. He is a **** bomb.

I hated the parents angle. Spiderman shouldnt be obsessed with finding the truth about his parents he should be obsessed with the promise he gave to uncle ben.

I liked Maguire Peter/Spider-Man better. I liked him until, well, 2007 anyway.

Can't blame Garfield though. It wasn't his fault, he didn't have any say in the direction of the movies or stories he was in. His energetic Spider-Man was the only good part of the last turd. Still, can't say I'll miss him.

I think I like every Spiderman movie. :lol

As a MCU fan I would surely like to see the character incorporated but I would be disappointed if they abandon what's been set up in the current continuity. I know the last one is not held in high regard, and I too had to chuckle at the 90s-ness of Electro's portrayal, but I think the movie was worthwhile overall. I like Garfield, I love the Garf/stuntman/CGI Spidey they have created, and I think it's worth seeing out.

Eh, it's not like he's laid off and will never work again. Who cares.

Look at Bond, look at Batman. Garfield is 31.

Should of had electro as the main focus and thats it....... no parent crap a little bit on harry.

If indeed the ASM series is over I think that vindicates the POV that the Raimi films were better. I know not all will agree with that but that's how I feel about it and how I see the majority feeling about it going forward. How many people thought that the Raimi films were good enough to make the ASM reboot completely unnecessary? Seemed like a lot. I did not see a huge amount of criticism for the first two Raimi films at the time, not like I have seen for the Webb movies. Granted I'm going on my own personal impression rather than exact figures that I have seen.

But anyway, yeah Raimi's third film was a bit bloated and had some moments that forever tarnished Maguire's Peter Parker, but overall...better movies. I'd say ''I'm sorry'' but why should I be.

Agreed 100%.

The fact that the "Webb/Garfield/whatever the **** you want to call it" reboot series only lasted a whopping 2 years and Sony begged Raimi for help via email makes for good feelings.

I'm glad you're dead or dying reboot Spidey, I'm glad you're dead.

Still brings a tear to my eye.
