I love spidey. I'll watch AVP or Predetor at 3 in the morning on FX when all I have to chose from is the jersey shore and viagra commercials. If that says anything. It's a fun movie for it's time but spidey's message, universe, style, themes and atmosphere (in all it's media types) are much more complicated and grander then a nine foot hippie going around killing people.

Listen to yourself its a freaking alien with drealocks, whats with the damn spidey bashing why the hell are you here if you compare spidey to a character thats not even in the same league. Spiderman is a superhero, predator is an alien why are you comparing them. Spiderman makes as much sense as an alien with dreads jumping through the forest with a mask on hunting people. Its all fiction.

Predators get OWNED by humans. Spiderman? not so much. The predators are like what to Spiderman? Venom? Scorpion? Rhino? Kraven? They're definitely similar to Kraven the most, but have the size of Venom. Except Venom is far stronger than them. If any predator fan thinks Spiderman couldn't dodge those lasers, or throw Predators like a trash can, they're dead wrong. Spidey could rip it's mandibles off and shove them up it's ass LOL By the way, I think Predators are awesome (no joke).
On a side note, I WANT TO SEE A PREDATOR EAT SOMETHING IN A MOVIE. ANYTHING! I JUST WANT TO SEE HOW IT PUTS FOOT IN ITS MOUTH AND HAS THE MANDIBLES MOVING AROUND. it should be freaky

I love Spidey. I love the Predator. I love the Alien. I've been nice.

Now when you say the Predator is just a "9 foot hippie".. You're definitely going to piss me off, and here's why:
Spiderman is no where near as complex as the Predator.
You can like Spiderman better, you may relate to him more, whatever.
But he just doesn't compare to the Predator in uniqueness, and complexity. That is a fact..not an opinion.
Spiderman is simple, but I still love him. He's a kid who was always bullied, is in love with the neighbor girl, and out of nowhere..gains these incredible super powers.
Of course, you could say the Predator is just the classic monster hunting the tough guys with guns in the jungle..but then comes the design...
Spiderman shoots super strong spider webs from his hands, wears a red, black and blue costume, has super Human strength, etc..
The Predator is an Alien Hunter that has a spotted, elongated head with reptillian skin, sinister yellow/purple eyes, a pair of mandibles like none other we've seen, long tube-like things coming out of the back of it's head with several tribal beads/bones on them..
Plasma Caster, Wristblades, Combi-stick, Smart Disc, Netgun, incredibly unique armor, body netting, wrist computer, Bio mask with various vision modes..
I could go on forever, do you understand what I'm saying?
And on top of all that, it was created by the designer of the most incredible and memorable movie monsters.
Stan Winston.
Creator of the Jurrasic Park dinos, Queen Alien, Terminators, dozens of other lesser known creatures/characters..
For someone to just dismiss all of that with "9 foot hippie" is outrageous..

I dont get this debate at all, they are two different freaking thing's a murderous alien and a superhero. Why the fanboys wanted to compare predator to spidey is beyond me. Actually, Spiderman recently died in Ultimate Spiderman, and has "died" in Amazing Spiderman, but not to a human. shout out about a predators complex design all you want, but a predator movie won't do better than any Spiderman movie to date unless they shove Batman in it with a main villian who died before the movie came out. A design can't carry a character or movie forever. Look at the American Godzilla movie. The design wasn't bad, but the movie still wasn't recieved well just like most Predator movies.
Predators are still "Kraven the Hunter" in another form whether you like it or not. They're monsters who can't talk, so they'll always have mystery. If they could speak english, they'd join the ranks of the Navi from Avatar. They'd lose alot of their mystery since their version of sign language would be useless.
Predators don't need to be the villian anyway. Just look at how they made one of them join sides with the human on AvP 1 at the end. They could easily make a movie based on predators where they are at war with each other, the aliens, or a new type of monster.
