Its Sony..........I expect nothing but lame from them these days. I dont understand why these companies think they can pass off older ppl for teenagers. Idk, I didnt really think much of this whole idea to begin with.I would rather see a movie based on the new Spidey game than this.

Well he's already won a few awards considering he's only been acting a few years. And he's worked with Terry Gilliam and David Fincher. I'm not ready to condemn him yet. Certainly not based just on his looks.

I'm happy with the look and glad to hear he has the chops but I'm more interested now in who they cast for MJ....often times when they cast a relatively unknown as the lead they go for a star in the support....

He is far more attractive than Tobey Maguire, but he looks a bit odd in some photos. Hope his acting is well... and he'll be playing a teenager? Can't wait to see who they cast as MJ & Gwen now.

He's got my vote. I thought Marvel wanted a younger (a kid, basically) for the reboot? This guy barely looks younger than Tobey did in the first Spidey movie. But whatever, I'm looking forward to seeing what he looks like in the costume.

They can cast whoever, and I'll probably still go see but that doesn't mean he's my Spider-Man. Just as Keaton will always be Batman to me, no matter how good Bale is. Or Reeves is always Superman not Routh.

i'm quite pleased with this choice. garfield was very solid in the imaginarium of dr parnassus.
although i think a reboot is a stupid decision, so far i'm liking the direction they've been taking. dir marc webb is also a great choice, judging by his work on 500 days of summer. the guy's got a directorial vision. i can get behind that.
and i totally 2nd the call to cast a HOT actress as mj.

Because regardless of how good he is as Spidey/parker Toby Maguire is our Spidey. You can't fit it or choose it, I think your missing my point here. If I was born in 1999, Christian Bale would be my Batman because that's who I grew up watching and knowing as Batman. Keaton, Kilmer, and the rest would all always seem foreign to me.
Just like the new generation of Star Wars fans to them Obi-Wan Kenobi is Ewan, to use it's Sir Alec. Just the way the world turns.
