Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Still not too crazy about Lizard... everything else looks ace!
Can't complaint about Spidey being on the big screen again though...

But then again... I used to love this show:

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Good call on the Hulk reboot!!! I didn't even see the first Hulk movie and didn't miss the origin in the Incredible Hulk. I thought it was perfect in informing the uninitiated and jumped right into the story they wanted to tell.

I think ASM could have done the same thing and I hope the reboot of Batman does the same thing. Seriously, BB is a great origin movie and B89 and BF both spent some time telling viewers all about his parents' murder and his fall into the cave. We don't need it a third time!

EDIT: It always comes down to Batman for me. I'm genuinely a Spidey fan too and the more I read/see about this movie, the more likely I am to see it in theaters. At least the cheap theater before it hits DVD.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

:lol From what i've seen, The Lizard is the most intimidating villian Spiderman has had on screen so far. It seems like no matter where Spiderman goes or what ceiling he climbs, He's right there behind him.....And he looks like a gigantic monster ready to rip his head off. Venom could've been like that.....UGH thanks for screwing up my favorite Spiderman villian. I really appreciate that.

:goodpost: :hi5:

All i know is in the sequel i hope they got PP in a job or post college. I'm sick of the HS crap. Loved reading the comics when Pete had to work, pay rent, be spidey, love his woman etc. ( i guess you can do those things as a kid but...)

Seeing as how Andrew is around 30 i would think that be the route they go.

On film there's been hardly any HS crap :lecture

And I easilly can since it's done purely just to keep the license off the Marvel.
All the same crap as with "Superman".

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Well atleast the movie looks good. I was skeptic at first but that trailer is just awesome. Brings back old memories. Now people are finally seeing that this movie has potiential.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Yeah the visuals are coming across as very fake looking. I think its mostly the lighting, looks like they just put spotlights on everything and shot in the dark, then added a ton of CGI

Just looks 'off'

It's all down to the story for this film really.

It's night time in NYC, one tends to expect lots of lights :lecture

Just cinematicly realistic looking story. Not much of style. That's the point of the series.

Why is when someone critsizes Batman, people jumpt to say "you just donmt get it it's supposed to be this way" :dunno

O yea its better in everyway. I'm sorry this trailer didnt make you cry like the tdkr did.:1-1: But this trailer got me more hyped than batman sooo yea.

:exactly:

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Why is he unmasked about 1/3 of the time as Spidey? Can't they make a movie where the f'n mask stays on?

I agree something I didnt like about he other movies the new are following the same trend.

I've heard a lot of hating on Nolan's Batman films, but the 'look' of the films has never been part of it - this is a first

Wally Pfister's cinematography is utter genius. TDK was one of the best 'looking' films i've ever seen.

TDKR appears to 'look' even better - and if you actually go and watch it in IMAX when it comes out, I doubt anyone will be left thinking 'that looked meh'

And i'm completely disregarding anything to do with quality of story - just purely the look.

BB had a 'Sepia' sort of tone, and that added to the sense of beginning for the story, like an old photo

TDK has a blue hue, very similar to 'Heat' and it added to the crime drama tone of the film

TDKR appears to have a washed out look, and i'm sure that's going to be there to add to the sense of hopelessness..

So there is thought that goes behind the visuals as well, which is more than I can say for most comic book films.

Anyway, carry on.:monkey1

I'll admit that I was definitely skeptical as well, but I've done a '180' on this one.

The trailers get better and better, and with that comes better looks at visuals, storylines, etc. I'm really liking this whole 'parent's unsolved mysteries' storyline.

And I've said it before, but the way this design team makes Andrew/Spider-Man move in the air is just perfect. It looks so natural and it flows so well. It's improved so much improved over the previous three, in ways I didn't think possible.

This is Spider-Man for me.

I thought that was stupid aswell. I never got that but then I thought about it. Probaly its becuase to convey emotion to the character. It would be strange to have spideys eyes move in CG so while it sucks thats the reason.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

parker needs a little justin bieber to lighten up a bit. too twilight shat going on. lolz

are you joking.:rotfl. not one thing in the trailer represented anything from twilight whatsoever.
no forrest
no ugly women
no glitter
no pansy vampires.

just a guy in a skin tight spidey suit saving new york from a giant lizard.

I see your point and can definitely see both sides of the argument.

But, in my opinion, I think it's a way to help the audience relate to the character more, blurring the lines between Peter and Spider-Man. Hearing emotion through a mask is one thing, but I think there are times when you can't replace actually seeing an actor's face in the height of emotion. Does it get excessive at times? Sure. But I think the overall heightened experience outweighs the negative.

I'm no movie director, by any means, but that's my take. Some of the most memorable moments I had of the original Trilogy were when Spider-Man had his mask off.
