Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Goblin killed himself and said "I'm sorry"
Doc Ock killed himself and said "I'm sorry"
Sandman lived!
Harry got killed by Venom, but said "I'm sorry".
Venom DIDNT say i'm sorry, but killed himself.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Well, Goblin really said sorry to Harry. But I don't think Peter passed that on. :lol

I think the moral is that no matter how bad you become... you are never too bad to say that you are sorry.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

As much as i liked Rami's films, what was posted above and a page back, plus the MJ kidnapping dealio's makes me glad someone else is at the helm. The fact that we are starting off with Gwen makes me happy with just that. I had problems with Sam's vision,(minor problems) The MJ stuff was kinda sickening after a while, and i didn't care about her. Organic webbing was always lame to me. EVERYTHING (99%) of what i've heard so far from this reboot has been all good to me. (exception of MR. Leary in the movie) So i have faith they will right some of the wrongs that went on in the first 3. Now, i hope they just don't "MTV" it. Or make it just for 18-24 yr olds. But from what it sounds like, they're not...More ULTIMATE. I know Webb is going to be their 'yes man', and i just don't believe that could be an entirely bad thing this go around...We'll see!

And i absolutely love that they went outta left field with Garfield.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

You guys are missing the point, this statement:

And when every single bad guy in the course of 3 movies says I'm sorry and then kills himself, it hurts the character's story.

No matter how they die, the fact they are dead DOES hurt the character's story because the threat of danger lessens with each foe's death. See in the comics, every villain that escapes, every villain that is locked up only to escape, every villain that returns with a larger ax to grind creates direct and very real danger for the hero. Green Goblin dies, Dr. Octopus dies, Sandman "dies", it all means one less threat. With these villains out and about, even locked up in standard prisons which are more like holding cells anyway means that the hero is always "on the job". With each death, its just petty crooks which are no match and waiting for the next big thing. Superheroes aren't super without a need for it. Fighting petty crooks makes him no better than a cop.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I've never understood why comic book movie villains always die. It's so stupid.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Yea and to me The dark knight was awesome becuase joker didnt die, two face may have but not joker. I was upset and confused that they kept killing off all the spidey villian's and at the end they all turn good. Then they kill off venom with a stupid pumpkin bomb, i thought that was ridiculous becuase that was the villian that everyone has been waiting for and they just kill him off and don't save him for a 4th movie.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Comics are comics, movies are movies, and movies are more final.. Just the way it is. (not that Sam had to do it that way :))

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Killing off Venom was a huge dumb move. Had they brought him back for a fourth movie and done it well I think it would have overcome the weaknesses of 3.

The Green Goblin never turned good.

No, Sam hated the character. Killing him off was probably a way of telling the studios "You wanted ____ing Venom? Here...now he's dead, so you cant use him anymore. Go ____ yourselfs for wrecking my movie"

Atleast, that's what I would've done. Studios need to back off when they're destroying the director's vison. He probably would've done Spider-Man 4 with Venom, and then he would've been cool or something. Sam's own take on him. But no...they forced it apon him, and thus ruined the character in the films.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Ok so i guess we will see set pic's and see what the suit look's like. Btw she look's weird as a blonde.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

She has Mary Jane eyes. Must be because of her prodigious use of eye liner here.
