When i watched Batman Begins i was immersed soley in that film i didn't think about Batman 89 for one second.

I did the same for ASM, i watched the film that was there without thinking about any others and i loved every minute of it.

As i said before 95% of the hate for this film is grounded in comparisons to films that aren't playing on the screen.

Discard all that baggage and you have a better time. :lecture

Batman 89 came out in 1989. Begins came out in 2005. Most kids didn't know anything about that movie. That's not a good comparison.

It wasn't even fresh in people's minds.

If you wish to call it denial go ahead, i'm fortunate to not let outside influences sully my enjoyment of the film itself.

I get to enjoy it and watch this and future Spidey movies, while you get to carry around all the baggage of comparisons and what-could-have-should-have-beens and not enjoy any more Spidey movies :lol

Neither did I because from the very first scene of the movie and every scene onwards, they established this was a NEW story. ASM thinks they're doing the same thing by rehashing all these plot points. It's not even a "what could have been," it's "this already has been!"

:exactly: Begins didn't rehash everything in '89. We finally got an origin movie for Batman. But BubbleBoy keeps denying that ASM rehashed anything. :lol

The only similarity I saw (which I am almost 100% was done as a nod to Burton's movie) was when Bale growls "I'm Batman!"

Amazing Spider-Man is the future, Spider-Man is the past

Or y'know continue to think about & wallow in the past :medic

"Sorry Tobey, you're not the best Spider-Man anymore"

tumblr_m4l8v3AsDQ1qaboh9o4_250.gif

"But, but me and Raimi, we laughed, we danced, we cried"

"That was why people were sick of you buddy, nobody wants a dancing, crying Spider-Man again"

(I tried to find a gif of Michael Keaton crying because he wasn't the best Batman anymore, but didn't happen)

Seriously, your posts have come to this? You know you can't prove a point because this is not an opinion. It's a fact that ASM is very similar to Raimi's films and not worth watching when there are already movies out there that show the same story. You can like this one more all you want but there's no denying that it doesn't give us anything substantially new or different than what Raimi gave us.

"Before, before, you're living in the past marge, quit living in the past"

It's what y'all are doing. You didn't watch the film, you watched the film while thinking and comparing it to past movies, thinking it could've been this it should've been that.

Live in the Now

By that logic, the prequel trilogy is better than the original trilogy. That makes absolute zero sense. :cuckoo:
