I posted that about Tobey to hit back at the trolls who've taken over this thread with nothing but constant comparisons and complaining about this film.

Idk this movie just made me miss the originals. I thought Tobey was a nice dorky guy. I know he could be sarcastic but AG was kind of a jerk? Maybe that was just his "teenager" phase.

I liked the dilemma of spider-man 2 where its about moving on with your life and everyone is working on better things and they've got things going on and Peter is like "I'm spider-man though" and he's not sure like he wants to be a photographer and what is he supposed to do with this spider-man thing? How does he balance it? Make time for it? Is what he's doing right? What about when he can't do it anymore? What will he be then? Meanwhile everyone around him is changing too and I just thought that was a really great formula because everyone 19+ has gone through those feelings for doing what you want vs what you need. I know in the comics he's a teenager for awhile but just because that's how it was doesn't mean its the best. I think of Peter in the crappy apartment or running into MJ on the street while she worked in the diner. Hmm idk it just seemed better

Im not trying to get a reaction out of anyone, but being called a troll because I dislike ASM is ridiculous. What's painful to me is the same posts from the same people who call others "trolls" for disliking it. Saying things like "Raimi is garbage", "Tobey sucks", "That was why people were sick of you buddy, nobody wants a dancing, crying Spider-Man again" by your definition isn't considered trolling. So now that we got that straight, wrongfully accusing others of "talking tripe" and "trolling" for disliking this movie is by definition, a retard. It appears you are happy in your role.

I agree that he came across as a jerk in the begining of the movie but I put that down to him being a teenager and the increase in hormones from being bitten. The conversation with Gwens father at the dinner table put him on the right path. The Gwen Stacy arc will go further to explaining why and how he develops as a character. It's an important insident along wih Bens death. I just hope they go all out on a proper conclusion.

I still like the first two films very much, i posted that to troll the trollers, not the most grown up thing to do but i'm sick of this thread being about the raimi-era and not about this film itself.

There's hardly been any comments about the film without referencing the previous films.

It's similar and different to them but either way they're over and done with, trolls who openly dislike the film should stop harping on and on about what the film isn't and embrace what it is.

Yeah, it was after that and saving the kid on the bridge that made him realise that being Spider-Man is who he has to be.

I can't wait to see how the story with Gwen and her fate plays out.

It will be interesting to see if Webb discuses the obvious change in tone between the trailers and the actual film. Was he forced into the changes or was it his decision. As some have pointed out it wasn't what they expected.

We probably won't know until the Sequel. If they continue the untold story then it'd be apparent the cut the scenes to stretch them over the sequels, if not then it was probably due to complaints about changing his origin ala Hulk (2003) and the backlash it'd cause.
