Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I still think part 2 kicks ass. The train scene rocks from start to finish. As does Rami's director traits.

I agree. I love the part when they pull him off the front of the train and pass him back.

The way Otto Octavius was portrayed kinda ruined Spidey 2 for me, but that operating room scene was, and still is, ____ing awesome, classic Raimi. All of the fight scenes between Spidey and Ock were great. If only Otto had been more arrogant and the ending not so sappy.

I hate the ending. I loved how Norman was bad because he was bat____ crazy, then we get Ock who is temporarily insane then kills himself to save the city. And don't get me started on Sandman...

Really? The unmasked passing? To me that is the focal point of what is wrong with Spider-Man 2.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I didn't like him being unmasked, but not enough for it to detract from the scene. What do you dislike about it?

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I thought the passing of the unmasked Spidey and saying they would keep the secret was a powerful moment. It sets up the stand they put against Doc Oct.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I love the part when doc ock just knocks spidey out with one tenticle lol. Spidey just stands up and then, bOOOm! Knocked out.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders, Red Dawn, The Hitcher) has joined the cast of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, reports EW. Little is known about Howell's part, outside of the fact that his character is called Ray. As EW speculates, Ray could refer to Ray Cooper, the father of Peter Parker's current girlfriend in the comic book continuity, Carlie Cooper. There was also a Ray Walker in the 1999 Peter Parker: Spider-Man #35. The story, "Heroes Don't Cry," depicted (in a child's imagination) an African American Spider-Man under the mask and the issue was cited quite a bit online last year following actor Donald Glover's public pusuit of the Parker role.
Of course, it is also likely that the part is one written specifically for the film and, at this stage, it is unknown exactly how large or small it might be.
What is known is that Howell will join Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Julianne Nicholson, Irrfan Khan, Annie Parisse and Chris Zylka in the 3D film, scheduled for release on July 3, 2012.

I could see how some people can find that part cheesy, but I thought it was pretty touching:dunno:lol

It's a dumb scene and completely unrealistic. I guarantee you that if Spider-Man were real people would be snapping pics, uploading to Facebook and Twitter or at minimum selling them to JJJ who was publically villianizing him at the point whether they knew who it was or didn't. Spider-Man's entire thing is an FML existance where he saves but no one appreciates, he tries hard to do the good thing and gets hit hard for it. The scene in Spider-Man 1 where they are throwing things at Green Goblin was stupid but in the wake of 9-11 I could see why it was put in to show solidarity. This scene is even more ridiculous, passing him aside and everyone solemnly speaking as the pass their hero. He isn't goddamn Superman, people don't adore and love him but quite the opposite, it adds to the character, every medium has this being played that way where when someone does appreciate it's that light in the dark that keeps him going but he always complains in comics, cartoons, etc about how he isn't appreciated or beloved like The Avengers or the Fantastic Four. It was one of those moments that took me right out of the film that a subway car full of people who have been reading The Daily Bugle's stories have been seeing JJJ's offers for pictures and tidbits would simply put all of that aside for their hero. Give me a break, if you save someone from a burning car they'll sue you, if you report a crime you are in danger of being a snitch, it's a jaded world, people are _______s and in one of the largest cities in the country this occurs, this little Kodak moment where people put everything aside for him? Gag me.

Don't get me started on the downright stupidity of a Spider-Man day in SM3.

so if you'd just watched spidey nearly kill himself, or at least pass out, trying to save you and a whole bunch of others on a train, your first reaction would be, "i'm not touching him, he's an a-hole" ? surely that's not even realistic for NYC.

C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders, Red Dawn, The Hitcher) has joined the cast of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, reports EW.

SPOILER ALERT:

Howell will be seen in his real life role as a barista at Starbucks. They were filming a scene on location with Garfield and Stone going out for coffee, and Howell happened to be working during that shift. When they reviewed the footage, someone said, "Hey, that guy behind the counter looks like that dude from Soul Man!" Sure enough, it was Howell--and they decided to use the footage and include his accidental cameo in the film. Howell is very excited about his return to the big screen, and has already asked his manager for time off next year so he can attend the premiere. Whil Wheaton is understandably upset that the film crew didn't come during the night shift.
