No because it sucked, but if you read my statement, I was saying what the movie did to the costume..they ruined the Supes costume. And the new spidey one looks like it was designed by the same staff.
SR didn't fail because of the costume.

I had no clue the suit even looked different for Superman Returns, so outside "these" kind of message boards, I doubt the casual movie goer never even noticed either
Was the change just making the cape to a maroon color? I'd hate to have been around message boards when the first X-Men movie was coming out

My mistake. Looking through the Man of Steel thread here on SSF again, I confused the leaked concept suit pics from JJ Abrams' canceled SR sequel for Snyder's upcoming Supes film.

Some folks are speculating he will have a utility belt. And that it was lost/ripped off.

Which would make sense as to why it's missing in the photo, losing it in the sewer with the fight with the Lizard......supposedly

What? I'm pretty sure everyone noticed.
As you can see the fan photoshopped one on the left is far more accurate.
That compared to the Reeve's suit. They tried to make it more alien. With tiny cels on it, and maroon low cut briefs and low cut boots with notches cut out of them. And it all look leathery and stuff, plus the S was like super small. Not even to mention the new belt with the Superman S logo as the buckle as well.
I'm pretty sure even an casual Supes fan could tell the difference.

Why would Spiderman wear a utility belt? I guess he could store his Spidey tracers and web refills, but it would look silly to me.

He has one that he wears under the suit (in the comics, don't know about the movie). If they bring it to the outside, I think it would be distracting and wouldn't fit his acrobatic/lanky appearance.

I googled "Spider-Man belt" and he wore them for that exact reason in the comics.
The difference was it was under his costume not over it, like this new film suit appears to be.
I think I remember seeing the belt along with a diagram in some Ultimate Guide to Spider-Man book. I guess he had a "spider-signal" too?

I had forgotten about that. I thought he just had little pockets. In any case, it would look really weird to have a Batman-style belt or whatever.
