Nolan's Batman kinda had an entirely different suit in the second flick. Difference being, there was a 'necessity' for it written in, whereas normally they change suits in between sequels with little to no explanation (aside from marketing/toy reasons of course....).
There WERE subtle differences between the previous 3 Spidey movies though.
And I agree. You knew they'd start totally 'fresh' (as fresh as they can doing a reboot of a comic adaption) with the suit. So of course they're going to deviate from the previous movie version(s).
Spidey's suit in Raimi's films was perfect which is why it never changed (like Nolan's Batman). In order to reboot Spiderman, there has to be a departure from the first costume and I'm actually happy with what I've seen so far..
