Spidey's suit in Raimi's films was perfect which is why it never changed (like Nolan's Batman). In order to reboot Spiderman, there has to be a departure from the first costume and I'm actually happy with what I've seen so far..

Nolan's Batman kinda had an entirely different suit in the second flick. Difference being, there was a 'necessity' for it written in, whereas normally they change suits in between sequels with little to no explanation (aside from marketing/toy reasons of course....).

There WERE subtle differences between the previous 3 Spidey movies though.

And I agree. You knew they'd start totally 'fresh' (as fresh as they can doing a reboot of a comic adaption) with the suit. So of course they're going to deviate from the previous movie version(s).

They would be retarded to remake the wrestling scene again.

Pretty sure that's the final suit.

Again, flashbacks.(which would work well, and we wouldn't have to sit through that again) To that /Uncle Ben's death. They didn't hire a big name like Martin Sheen for nothing.

Could be a lot of flashbacks in this film. Especially with Young kid PP, there's a kid they hired for that as well. (and PP's parents)

I don't think speculation is bad, but it seems people are forgetting certain details when being speculative.

Could be fighting with the Lizard and still be his wrestling suit.(if they don't go the flashback route) All depends on how they work him into the story. Should be interesting when we find out

Wait why do people say that this is his wrestling suit ? For all we know the origin story will probaly be told in the credits or begining of the film in a montage. This is the actual suit guys unless i missed somthing i dont think that they would show a pic of him in a wrestling suit.

I dont think its the wrestling suit, it's too refined in its design to be the "whipped something up to make some fast cash" look.
Its got the web shooters and the Superman Returns seams so I think we're looking at the main suit.

In Ultimate Spider-Man, he was given the suit by the wrestling promoter.

It's probably the final suit, since I don't think they'd show a secondary suit in the first promo image, but who knows?

In film that suit from the comics that was just posted would not work as a wrestling suit,it look's way to much like a suit he would have as a proper superhero..the simple wrestling suit he put together in the first spiderman movie is way more realistic.

I may get some hate over saying this ..but not everything in the comics will look as good or make much sense in the film, being true to the comics is not always a good thing.

Maybe it is the wrestling suit and they showed it first because the real suit is going to be so controversial they put this one out first to soften the blow.

While I agree that this is the final suit, on another point there is no way in hell that they would skim over the origin story in the credits or a montage. The first movie is more or less an orgin story, and I wouldn't expect anything less from this.

I don't see why they need to redo the origin story when everybody knows it and it was already done once. If they waste half the movie with Parker getting powers, becoming a wrestler, learning how to use his powers, and Uncle Ben dying I'm gonna be so annoyed.

Raimi styled Spider on the back...I'm a little disappointed in that especially when the new spider on the chest takes more from the conceptual art (I still have that shirt ) than the actual Raimi used stuff.

If this is the new suit I'll be fine with it, I like it. Although my thought a la Iron Man or any other Superhero film is that he'll actually use the wrestling suit up until his first battle and then we'll see a more refined "fixed" suit at the end. He gets clawed up, battered and has to fix his suit bringing it closer to the original but still stylized.

Those hoping for a Raimi suit, I don't see it happening.
