Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

They didn't consciously copy it, you do know that before principal photography is even begun, there are concept artists working on the movie. It is safe to say the concept artists came up with the Leviathan well before the trailer of DOTM even released.

this was released much before transformers 3 :nana:

Lol I also think the serpent will be different than a razor cutting worm thingy. I don't think it will have the same functions of cutting up skyscrapers, but I could be wrong...

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Ohhhhh Mike.......:lol

We all know that Fox-Sony have to make movies to retain licenses.

Would it be possible for Marvel/Disney legal to agree that cameos in Avengers would suffice as meeting those requirements.

I still believe there are secrets not out of the bag yet.

An unannounced Superhero or Superhero team will arrive at the end to help counter a big villain, end of movie.

Maybe FF4, Spidey (not PP), DD or X-Men.

At least for FF4 or DD it would count as movies made.

Or would Marvel/Disney not go for that because they want their licenses back.

I know this is off topic by a huge margin (I needed an example), but if games like Street Fighter x Tekken, Marvel vs. Capcom, Capcom vs. Snk, and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe exist, why can't two movie companies work together to profit from Spiderman??? You're telling me movie companies are incapable of coming to mutual agreements for comic related characters? It's not like everyone at Sony and Marvel will go to prison if they came up with a plan together.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Spider-man appearing in "Avengers Assemble" (i'm in the UK) might not be totally out of the question. Disney have the rights to the Amazing Spider-man merchandise so agreeing to a Spidey cameo in the Avengers would be a good sales tactic on both sides. It would be good promotion for the ASM movie and good promotion for any of Disneys ASM merchandise.

Disney buys ASM merchandise rights

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

i feel if there is any suprise apperance of any superjeroes, it will be probaly some alien super heroes, like the vision , inhumans, , captain marvel, my best bet would be Vision, as he is a part of avengers

Film rights usually have exclusivity clauses built into them where video game licenses do not.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

It be aswome if at the end of TFA Cap saw Spidey with Nick fury since they are both from NY. Im just saying fellas that be cool :lol

why couldn't they just add Spidey into the Avengers anyways.....isn't Spidey MARVEL?

No. Marvel sold off various characters to various movie studios back before they founded Marvel Studios. Fox as the X-men, Sony has Spider-man. So unless the different studios can agree on a cameo deal (which is basically impossible) it won't happen. And if it does, it would only rub salt into the wound because fanboys will then think they can have a Spidey cross overs then, when that wouldn't happen because of him being owned by Sony.

So NO Wolverine or Spider-man in the Avengers. Period.

Yeah, we can always dream though. After all, dreaming fanboys is where all these rumours come from.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Shame Spidey isn't in it seeing as he's from NYC. Same with the X-Men but we should be happy with what we have I think. It was a massive undertaking making the individual films and finally this ensemble piece. Any other superheroes included just wouldn't have been possible :(

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

There is rumour going around that the movie ends in a cliffhanger with the Avengers being unable to defeat Loki's army and with Tony creating an army of robots with the help of shield to help fight the Loki's invading army.

Very possible...

That's possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard. What a terrible movie it would be if it's true...it's not though.

Seriously? Sounds like the Marvel Cinema Universe's way of introducing Ultron...and most likely Antman, Vision, and Wasp...

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Where does that leave Iron Man 3?

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Iron Man 3 could have Ultron as the big bad...

They shouldn't leave it on a cliffhanger imo, the next sequel to the Avengers isn't even confirmed yet they are willing to end it on a question mark? And it shouldn't be Tony introducing Ultron at all...
