She looks awesome. Already better than your faves..

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Lemme guess. You would've preferred a sauna scene with the boys rubbing sausages?

Oh please. Joss Whedon has practically made a career out of taking some of the most boring females in the world and shoving them front and center, and then expecting us to care just becuase they are hot and can for some magical reason take down men twice thier size.

Meanwhile the much more well written male characters (and even secondary yet better written females) are always shoved in the background.

Id say this is a pretty legitimate concern.

Totally agreed. Angel was shoved so far back, he got his own show. And that Malcom Reynolds chick was F'N hawt, and man could she ever take down dudes twice her size! And don't even get me started on Astonishing X-Men. It was just an excuse to bring Colossus back. Like the X-Men needed *ANOTHER* hot female character front and center.

I'd say the only legitimacy is that the concern is completely unfounded. Joss as well as Feige have already gone on record saying that for the most part, we'll be experiencing the movie through the eyes of Cap. Now unless the SS syrum has suddenly grown him ****ies (which arguably it did) and inverted his peepee (don't want to go there), I'd say we're fine.

You forgot Firefly/Serenity. Apparently the show/movie's two biggest stars, Baldwin and Fillion are also women! :horror

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Don't forget Toy Story. Andy's sister and Bo Peep's ***-kicking really does get in the way of the cowboy/spaceman bromance. And don't even get me started on Dr. Horrible. Chick. Fest.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I have a horrible feeling that this being a Joss Whedon film there is going to be way too much Black Widow stuff going on.

I am not bothered by this. I saw Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America. I didn't get to see a movie called Black Widow. I don't think he'll make her front and center. But he certainly will give her fair screen time and allow us to get to know the character a little more.

It's really good for us geek women to have a female superhero in the lime light. Not just the male superheroes for the men out there.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

We're going to see that same exact clip on any show ScarJo is on to promote the film I bet :lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Man, I never thought I'd see guys complaining that they're worried Scarlett J would have too much screen time.:dunno

And that clip is awesome sauce.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Woah that clip was awesome!!! :D

What about River? While despite Joss' initial intentions the series ended up having Mal as its main character, that didn't stop Joss from making half the episodes and the movie revolve around her.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Totally reminds me of the start of A team

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

That whole scene is so reminiscent of a Buffy/Angel action sequence, and I am a-o-k with that.
