I mean, IRON MAN 2 still sucks, but I'm less mad about it.

The Numbers?

Estimated Cost (reports vary between $170 and $260 million): $220 million
Break-Even Point (Studios get on average around 55% of a film’s revenue): $400 million
Hit-Status: $600 million
Sequel-Unavoidable-Status: $800 million

On that note: Deadline reports early tracking numbers have The Avengers grossing $125 million during its opening weekend so far.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I've seen specs on opening weekend between 125-155 million.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

:(

That's close to my list

1. Catwoman
2. Elektra
3. Spiderman 3
4. The Spirit
5. Superman IV: The Quest For Peace
6. Batman & Robin
7. AND Iron Man 2

:lol

:horror:horror:horror

No Superman, no Batman '89. Son, I am disappointed in you (unless you just listed current/modern movies).

Sounds like the Avengers is fantastic. I'm not even a Marvel fan per se and I'm looking forward to it. From everyone's reviews it seems that Hulk lives up the hype and is one of the best characters.

I bet this will be a fun one, can't wait.

Only modern, 89 Batman and Superman 1-2 are def on my all time list.

I want this as a poster, hands down the best looking hulk on film. :rock

Look at that amazing face, the textures, his freaking emotion. :bow

Is his nose bleeding :panic:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I have never seen a Marvel movie with 100% positive reviews before, not even IM1 got this kind of reaction.

Anyways, must watch:

Downey and Ruffalo say they are filming an additional scene tonight!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I'm not going to watch it on the off chance their could be spoilers, but I will say that image of Ruffalo hugging a nude Hulk is pretty epic.

Me neither, not watching. :lol

Just peeked at the Hulk footage.

There are 4 B roll videos out.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Update #2: Mark Ruffalo has confirmed to The Playlist that they are in fact shooting an extra scene for The Avengers tonight:

“We’re shooting a scene tonight. I’m not sure exactly where it’s gonna go. All I know is that someone came in with the costume and said, ‘Here’s some wardrobe. We don’t know where you’re going to be or what you’re doing.’ ” Ruffalo said. We asked if it will be in the “The Avengers” when it hits theaters Ruffalo added, “Yeah. So I’m like, ‘All right, when are we doing that?’ Today after we’re done.”

The guys over at Slashfilm also point out that typically since Iron Man 2 that the directors of the film do not in fact film the after the credits sequence, Whedon filmed it for Cap and so people are assuming that it won't be him. Odds are that it'll be Shane Black setting up Iron Man 3 that starts soon.

They also point out that the Nick Fury sequence after Iron Man 1 wasn't included in the premiere or press screenings and wasn't added until it hit actual theaters.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Thor fighting Hulk with his fists alone and doing ok will really show how powerful he is. In fact it is as big a strength feat as I could have expected.

On another note I'm so glad Jane will be in it even if only in one brief scene on a computer monitor. That level of involvement was all I was asking for to validate the events of Thor.
