Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Yes, he really was. I loved him. LOVED him. Joss wrote his scenes so well and Mark was fabulous in the roll.

I have a question about the Hellicarrier.
Does the number 64 come from anything from past comics? Just curious because of the specific number on this one...Wondering if Joss had a little egg in there or is it indeed a number used.

Awesome lines delivered in awesome fashion

Humor was off the chart, and didn't feel forced, very genuine.

The humor didn't surprise me. I am too familiar with Joss' work so I knew before people said anything, that it was going to be funny. I cannot even tell you how many times I laughed.

A few favorite parts with comedy:

The Ant/Boot part with Fury. Where Hulk punches Thor in the side of the head, When Banner wakes up on the rubble and the man who is there when he wakes tells him he has a condition, Coulson geeking over Cap, when Thor tells Loki to listen to him, but is swept off by Iron Man.

And so many other parts that I just cannot even remember atm.

Coulson dying was not cool with me, but expected. I didn't read any spoilers but it's common knowledge that Joss (like Shakespeare) tend to get you in the heart by killing people you love. I loved Coulson. Wish I could have a figure.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

For only having one line, Hulk had a ton of personality! RDJ was at his best! Evans actually felt like Rogers this time. It was purely epic! I dont see how any other film this summer will even come close to touching this. In fact, they should have played Can't Touch This by MC Hammer during the credits! :rotfl

Christ! You guys are really feeding my jones for this flick! I will be seeing a late show tonight with a collector buddy.

And I am gonna love it!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

What song was it that played when Iron Man came onto the scene in the first confrontation with Loki?

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Go through the clips of songs and see if one pops out at you.

Awesome! I love your priorities!

Lol I know and I'm really hard on her about school but the awesomeness of this movie is worth it. Plus I get to be the cool dad for once, poor kid is 13 and her dad is an ex Army Ranger. She has it rough sometimes.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

shoot the thrill

Correct...It is AC/DC "Shoot to Thrill"

Shoot to Thrill, Play to Kill
Too many women with too many pills.

:rock:rock2

On a side note, I have never been a fan of MOST of the usage of pop music in movies. It is usually (not always) very poorly done.

That being said...AC/DC seems to fit Iron Man in these movies in an awesome way!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I don't know the director's work but kudos for a great film.

It was non stop between (laugh out loud) humor, (team) conflicts and action. All the characters well represented with solid - strong performances. All the talk about RDJ, Evans, Hemsworth and Ruffalo, it can't be forgotten Hiddleston is Loki. Another brilliant, even more evil performance.

The humor wasn't forced, beyond actually being funny it flowed into the conversations. The action / final battle brilliant. I didn't want it to end. A great, fun ride :clap

:exactly::lecture:exactly:

There are so many layers to this movie.

Too many "best scenes" to pick just one.

This movie makes every other Marvel movie seem so small now.

The destruction even made Transformers small in the pants.

Going 3 more times this weekend, wife is dying to see it. :yess:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

The best thing about this movie was easily it's humour. Very natural and laugh out loud funny. Funnier than any comedy i've seen in the last few years
