I still need to get
IM1
Thor
Cap: FA
and The Incredible Hulk on Blu, I only have IM2 on blu.

:monkey4

Of all the ones to have....

:monkey4

Honestly I had more fun with that one than Cap. It was dumb, and convoluted, but I didn't have high expectations. I read reviews comparing Cap to RotLA. Yeah, not at all....

:1-1:
I got my Blu ray right around the time it came to blu. I liked it better than Cap as well. Cap was just, unnecessary.

This was pretty easy even though I haven't seen Avengers yet. TDK by a mile and I'll tell you why. IM 1 and 2, The Hulk, Thor and FACA were no where near as good TDK so lumping them all together in one pile of comic goodness still won't touch it because they still lack what TDK brought, which is most simply identified as realism.

I think it's funny people want to compare these movies, simply because they both did huge at the box office and no one thought the dark knight would ever be touched by any comic film. Comparing these two films is like trying to compare Heat to the new Star Trek. Apples to Oranges. With that said, I do like The Dark Knight more. All of Marvels films have been safe films, a little to safe for my taste, including Avengers. Hopefully they get a bit more daring in the future.

Blatantly ignoring the high-rise fall, the Bat Pod coming out of the Tumbler and 2-Faces very existence, you might have a point. :lol

I rewatched TDK for the first time in quite a while the other night, and it was jarring how the movie goes from an engrossing "real-ish" crime drama to almost cartoonish when Two-Face shows up. He really comes off looking and acting ridiculous in that setting. Still a great movie, but that third act is dodgy as hell.

Oh come on. Like the joker made it anymore serious and realistic. Sombody in real life walking around like that wouldnt be taken seriously. I look at tdk as gritty and dark. Not realistic. Its a superhero movie for crying out loud. Two face was awesome.

The Joker in his make-up does evoke a John Wayn Gacy-ish kind of creepiness. It's not that far off from reality.

Nolan's movies aren't based in reality. They are based in "heightened" reality.

In Nolan's world, how else would the Joker have been portrayed as? Getting thrown into a vat of acid, and coming out with a grin on your face wouldn't work.

I don't see how that's any more far-fetched than getting 4th degree burns and parading around the city in a tirade like it's only a paper cut. :huh

"heightened reality"

There's "heightened reality" and then there's Superhero-ey cartoonish fiction. Given 2-Face's eye completely defies any sense of modern day physics (like Superman flying), it doesn't belong next to anything remotely close to reality unless the word "reality" is preceded by "forgone." :lol

It's a movie Nam. :dunno

If you desire the most realistic superhero flick, I think Jersey Shore: Gotham Pier edition starts in the fall. :lol
