That's my point. Arguing that Nolan's Batman films are grounded in reality is benign. Though they don't have as much fantastical content as Avengers, they also rely heavily on a suspense of realism to tell their story as well.

Mental pain overcame physical pain. I'm not gonna sit here and shake sticks to decide if Nolan's bats is grounded in more reality than The Avengers.

Next time the God of Thunder come's to the local bar be sure to snap some pics. That is if you can get the old guy sitting next to you to shut up about him being frozen in time in the 1940's and woke up in 2011.

No amount of zen meditation can overcome basic physics of the body. His eyeball would be hanging down on his cheek, the tendons would be crispy and likely crack if he tried to talk and there's no way in hell his voice would remain the same. We'll also ignore the fact that a fire that damaging would've likely turned his skull hot and cooked his bean. I've seen these types of burns on dead cases so I can tell you first hand, it's impossible. But if you come across someone strolling around all gee-golly normal with untreated 4th degree burns to exactly half his face, be sure to post here so we know Nolan's not full of ____.

You guys are so silly. Films aren't meant to be 100% realistic. 'Specially not superhero films. I didn't question the plausibility of two face's existence or of cryogenic freezing in the '40's when watching either film. I just enjoyed them for what they were.

That's what I do too. The world the characters exist in is the one they need to tell the story and build upon.

Personally, I would say both TA and the nan batman films are set in the same type of reality. One is just a little darker than the other which makes sense since batman ain't a happy go lucky guy.

They are definitely NOT set in the same type of reality IMO - for reasons that have been rehashed over and over in this thread and in others.

If they were, then Batman would not be rebooted to make way for a JLA compatible version.

If Ra's Al Ghul shows up in TDKR having been resurrected from a Lazarus Pit - then I will concede the argument fair and square . But I simply don't see something like that happening.
