Not really. I'm not a comic fanboy ask Irish, Mike, Tom, etc that either know me in real life or through the board. I for as much as I like TDK and I've defended it against the hardest of the Marvel fanboys I just prefer the Marvel movies more.
Same, and I've always prefered Batman the character over hulk/ironman/thor/cap.

The Batman movies just bore me to death.

Oh, I did the Batman movies quite a bit. I think they're pretty damn fun but as a whole I do prefer the Marvel guys to DC but I like characters from both so I stay away from being a fanboy of each.

Wow... really?

I'll never let anything ruin my enjoyment of TDK or the Nolan series in general. I still consider TDK one of my favorite films because to me it's a great film and I can enjoy it on every viewing.

How you feel about the film itself is what really counts. Don't let others "dictate" how you should feel. Enjoy it your own way... or not.

Seems you are just over-thinking things. :wink1:

Now I feel an oversaturation of the market and repeated viewings in excess can spoil enjoyment of a movie. Star Wars, anyone? I used to watch it a couple times a month, was a completist collector from 1995-2005 (and had to keep them MIB and get duplicates of the ones I played with and others to display on shelves). The crazy merchandising all over the stores, the lame commercials, the barrage of crap EU after the NJO was published, etc. Why did things turn sour? The prequels made Star Wars mega popular again. But I dont see nearly that amount of love or craziness over Nolan's films. And I've matured enough to know not to rewatch movies so often. I try to limit them to once every few months at the most. All about self-control, moderation, and taking a break from the Internet. I only come to this and a Batman site. I know what nam means by "nolancompoop" but I don't see many around these parts. Alot of us Nolanites (which I'd describe myself as) are open minded and are eager for a new take on the character in the reboot. Proof in this very page:lecture

Oh just wait a couple months until the inevitable "Avengers vs TDKR" thread takes the "fight" to a whole new level. :pow

Oh Lord... Don't tell me it's gonna get to Sheldon Cooper Vs. Wil Wheaton stats! :panic::panic::panic:

you thank the batman films are boring the first hour and ten minutes of avengers was just boring cheese dialogue with them telling us backstories,
and had only 2 short fight scenes that were very bad and really boring.

i love how thor said "I've come here to put and end to Loki's schemes".
Loki's schemes its funny how bad it is but its a lot more boring than funny.

avengers was the first movie i've ever walked out of.
i walked out a hour and ten minutes in so thats all i saw.
but it was one of the worst movies i've ever saw.
loki is one of the worst villains ever.

I think alot of what you're talking about is just plain burnout. I've done it on products that I've really been into even if they weren't saturated in the media and with toys, etc.. You're right though, whatever the source it ultimately reflects back on us and how we handle ourselves.

erm... I don't see how you could think this at all.

I thought Hiddleston did a GREAT job as Loki, much better than in Thor.

As for the action, I thought it was really well done. Loki vs Cap, Ironman vs Thor, Thor vs Loki, Hulk vs Loki, Hulk vs Thor, all of them vs the Chitauri, etc.. So much action and they were still able to make a really good movie with characters that you would care for and feel connected to without seeing any of the previous films.
Thor was more interesting to me in The Avengers than he was in his own movie. Same with Bruce Banner/Hulk. I thought I would hate Ruffalo, but to my surprise..he played the character better than Bana and Norton combined imo.

As for TDK/BB, I honestly don't remember any action other than Batman ocassionally punching/kicking a few thugs, or Neeson, or Joker, etc.
Oh wait, there was the tumbler thing..that was cool..but not anything I haven't seen before.

But, without the action..I still think Avengers was a much better film.
It definitely had cheese, but no more than was expected. And it would have taken much, much more than that to ruin the movie for me.

i dont know how anyone could care for the 2 dimensional emotionless characters in the avengers even iron man was god awful.
and it was the first movie i've ever walked out of before the movie was over and i was with 3 other people that all felt the same way as me so we all left when thay started telling us the 15th backstorie.

You've made your opinion known...multiple times. We get it...you don't like the Avengers. I think it's time to move on.

He doesn't need to let it go. He could say it every day for 5 years.

But he's wrong. :lol
