Matt Reeves Batman film

WB should reboot, and stop with the shared universe. I'd love to see another epic Batman trilogy with a new talented directors vision, same with Superman the rest of their characters.

Which is harder?

Finding a director for Batman or the NSA?

Yeah they're done, it's all very embarrassing now.

They're "done" because a director that didn't even get to pre-pro dropped out? Lmao, no.

Patty Jenkins and Edgar Wright dropped out of their respective MCU movies weeks before principal photography (even worse).

Reeves didn't even quit. He just didn't take the gig.

I love this nonsensical MCU disciple hate boner for WB. Its almost as bad the anti-Trank MCU hate.

Holy crap why does everything come back to the MCU with you. You don't have to be a mega fan of the MCU to see that the Way WB is doing this universe is garbage, the way they are treating the characters and the way things are handled is a mess. You don't have to be an MCu purist to see that. Everything coming from them right now is disappointing especially if your a DC fan.

That's the bandwagon opinion. I loved MOS [as did many] and while BvS wasn't perfect I very much enjoyed what Snyder did with it (specially in the Ultimate Cut).

According to Entertainment Weekly's review,

I don't know about that...people do it routinely on SSF for one thing - Iron Man 2, Thor 2. And the rest, unless it was really good, people found it meh and don't think it's worth talking about anymore, the threads have been buried.

It is not about wishing DC demise or celebrating it.

It is the fact that they are so incompetent and they are ruining their entire movie universe so much that you cannot help but laugh. Like a nervous laugh.

I was one of the biggest defenders of man of steel in the past but batman v superman and suicide squad was like a punch in the face.
Now all this drama with Affleck and the fact that this batman movie is doomed is kinda funny too.

People don't realize that directors are intimidated by the notion of having to top Nolan's legacy. That's going to continue to play a huge role with anyone who dares take on the challenge of making something as memorable and expertly made as TDK.

Affleck and Reeves are dodging expectations from a fan base impossible to please.

At this point, a guy at the level of Fincher would be the best way to go. Mainly because it no longer becomes a question of "Can TDK be topped?" but rather "What will a David Fincher Batman movie be like?".

They need someone big to helm this, bigger than Reeves, like what they're doing with SS2 in recruiting Mel.
